Transportation and parking
The old train service is currently being replaced by a new Metro system, but transport to and from the airport is still very good. The overground track connects the airport's Biman Bandar station to the centre via Dum Dum Junction and Majerhat Station, but be advised that it only runs up until 6:30 in the evening. The expanding Metro system runs up until 10pm. Shuttle buses to the airport are plentiful and are air conditioned, making them a pleasant alternative. There are also plenty of taxis available, although it’s best to go for the pre-paid Yellow Taxis to ensure you are being charged the correct fare for your journey. Currently, car parking is very limited (approximately 250 spaces) although this is due to improve once the airport refurbishment has been completed.
