Data protection and privacy are of the utmost importance to Qatar Airways and we take all possible steps to protect our customers from every type of online fraud attack and phishing scam.

We would like to advise you to be aware of fraudulent emails and to notify all Qatar Airways customers of the following:

  • All official communications from the airline are always sent from @qatarairways.com.qa/@qr.qatarairways.com domains, or similar country-specific domains.
  • Qatar Airways never charges fees for recruitment or supplier registration.
  • Qatar Airways never requires a recruitment deposit or asks candidates to pay visa fees.
  • Qatar Airways will never make a job offer without meeting a candidate face to face or via video conference.

In addition, while Qatar Airways Frequent Flyer Programme, Privilege Club, sends out emails asking recipients to click on a link to login to their Privilege Club account, recipients need to ensure that such emails are received only from an email address that ends in @qatarairways.com.qa or @qr.qatarairways.com.

Privilege Club will not ask for your confidential Privilege Club credentials such as membership number and password on emails or otherwise.

You should also be suspicious of emails or communications that claim to come from Qatar Airways advising you that you have won a lottery prize from the airline. Qatar Airways does not run lotteries. If you receive this email, please delete it immediately and do not respond.

Learn to recognise phishing scams and online fraud

Phishing e-mails are intended to steal your personal data or Privilege Club membership information or even your banking data. The email will typically prompt you for personal or banking data or direct you to a website to log into your account.

  • Emails might appear to come from Qatar Airways or Privilege Club or Qatar Duty Free. Even the email address might appear to be from qatarairways.com or qatarairways.com/privilegeclub or qatardutyfree.com.qa.
  • Emails might appear to be from someone you know.
  • They might include official-looking Qatar Airways or Privilege Club or Qatar Duty Free logos and other information taken directly from qatarairways.com or qatarairways.com/privilegeclub or qatardutyfree.com.qa. Phishing emails might include convincing details about your personal information that the fraudster found on your social networking pages.
  • They might include links to spoofed websites where you are asked to provide your account login details. The spoofed website might look similar to a website from Qatar Airways or Privilege Club or Qatar Duty Free.

Protect yourself from online fraud

  • Be suspicious of any email that asks for personal information or asks you to update your account details.
  • Before clicking on a link in the email, verify that the website address displayed matches the actual link and is not a "masked" website.
  • Ensure that your browser has opened a genuine qatarairways.com or qatarairways.com/privilegeclub or qatardutyfree.com.qa website address. Online fraudsters often use web addresses that closely resemble the name of a well-known company but are slightly altered by adding, omitting or transposing letters.
