AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands – Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, unveiled the five-star airline’s vision for its latest new destination, Amsterdam, at a press conference today at the Intercontinental Amstel Hotel.
Speaking to a select group of VIPs and local and international media, Mr. Al Baker revealed the full details of the airline’s imminent services to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, highlighting the multiple benefits the new route will offer.
“As an airline, we are always looking for new opportunities to grow and expand our worldwide network,” said Mr. Al Baker. “Amsterdam is a major capital, one of the busiest airports in Europe, and one of the most popular tourism destinations in the world. We have been pursuing the opportunity to open this new route for some time and I am pleased to have achieved our ambition. We have high expectations for the new Amsterdam-Doha flight with many passengers already booked on our new flights.
“Passengers to and from Amsterdam will have the opportunity to enjoy Qatar Airways’ exceptional service and the world’s best Business and Economy Class service while travelling on our Boeing 787 offering them luxury and comfort. Furthermore the convenient connection times and seamless transit experience offered by our award-winning Hamad International Airport will make onward connectivity to our worldwide network a pleasure.”

Flights will be departing from Amsterdam mid-afternoon arriving in Doha late evening and will not only give passengers the convenience and flexibility of reaching the Qatari capital, but also of connecting to more than 140 destinations through the state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport, the airline’s Doha-hub.
