Can you bring a bike on a plane?

Of course you can. Taking a bike on a plane is easy with Qatar Airways, as long as it fits within the guidelines and dimensions of your checked baggage allowance. And if it’s not quite enough for all your cycling gear, you can easily purchase additional sporting equipment allowance.

Packaging guidelines

Ready to start packing? Make sure your bicycle is packed just right for a smooth and seamless trip.

  • Use a strong, custom-made cardboard box or bike case.
  • Use foam tubes around bike parts for better protection if packed in a box.
  • Deflate tyres.
  • Remove pedals.
  • Turn and fix handlebars lengthways.

Please note: Motorised or battery-powered bicycles are not permitted. Learn more about dangerous goods and restricted items here.
