Linking of British Airways Executive Club and Qatar Airways Privilege Club accounts
Terms & Conditions
The following terms used in these Terms and Conditions shall have the meaning set out below, unless the context requires otherwise:
Term | Definition |

Avios | means the redeemable points earned, purchased or received by a PC Member or a BAEC Member and credited to their BAEC account or Privilege Club account. |
Award tickets | means a type of award ticket issued in accordance with the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions. |
BAEC Household account | means the account established by British Airways PLC which enables up to seven (7) members of a household, including a maximum of six (6) persons under 18 years of age, to earn Avios points and redeem all or part of such Avios points for Rewards for any one (1) person in the Household Account and for no other individual. |
BAEC Member | means a member of the BAEC. |
BAEC Terms and Conditions | means the BAEC Terms and Conditions available at www.britishairways.com/avios. |
British Airways Executive Club (BAEC) | means the British Airways Executive Club programme and any successor programme. |
Cash + Avios | means using Avios to save up to fifty percent (50%) of the cash amount on flight tickets purchasable with Qatar Airways. Full details and applicable terms and conditions can be found here. |
Family Member | means a Main Member's spouse, children older than two (2) years of age, parents and the parents of their spouse. Only the Main Member is registered as part of the Family Programme. |
Family Programme | means the Qatar Airways programme which enables up to ten (10) members of a family, including a Main Member and up to nine (9) Family Members, to pool Avios earned by each of them in the Main Member’s account. |
GDPR | means the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679. |
Linked Member | means an individual who is a BAEC Member and a PC Member and has successfully linked their Privilege Club account with their BAEC account. |
Main Member | means a Privilege Club account member who holds a Privilege Club account in his or her name. |
PC Member | means a Main Member of Privilege Club. |
Member | means an individual who is a BAEC Member and a PC Member. |
Privilege Club | means the Qatar Airways Privilege Club programme and any successor programmes. |
Privilege Club Terms and Conditions | means the terms and conditions applicable to the Privilege Club available here. |
Qatar Airways | means Qatar Airways Group Q.C.S.C. |
qatarairways.com | means the Qatar Airways website pages, as amended from time to time, at www.qatarairways.com. |
qatarairways.com/PrivilegeClub | means Privilege Club website pages, as amended from time to time, at www.qatarairways.com/PrivilegeClub. |
Rewards | means any flight ticket issued by, or other goods or services supplied by, or on behalf of Avios Group (AGL) Limited upon redemption by a member of the BAEC of an applicable amount of Avios points; |
Terms and Conditions | mean these terms and conditions for linking Privilege Club and BAEC accounts as amended from time to time. |
Total Avios Balance | means the sum total amount of a Linked Member’s BAEC account balance and Privilege Club account balance. |
(a) To become a Linked Member, an individual must be at least 18 years old and be a BAEC Member and a PC Member.
(b) BAEC Members and PC Members must become Linked Members in order to move their Avios between the two accounts and view their Total Avios Balance across their BAEC and Privilege Club accounts.
(c) To link a BAEC account to a Privilege Club account, Members must visit either ba.com here or qatarairways.com here or the Qatar Airways mobile app and select ‘Link your account’. The account linking feature is not available offline.
(d) The personal details registered on each account (including first name, last name and date of birth) must match that registered on the other account, to allow the accounts to be linked.
(e) Linked Members will receive a confirmation email from each of Qatar Airways and British Airways after they have successfully linked their accounts. These confirmation emails will be sent to the email address associated with each account.
(f) Only one (1) Privilege Club account and one (1) BAEC account can be linked at any given time.
(g) A Privilege Club account can be linked to a BAEC account, provided that the personal details match, a maximum of twice in any fifty (50) year period.
(a) Linked Members may unlink their BAEC and Privilege Club accounts at any time.
(b) To unlink a BAEC account and Privilege Club account, Linked Members must visit either the ba.com here or qatarairways.com here or the Qatar Airways mobile app and select ‘Unlink accounts’. The account unlinking feature is not available offline.
(c) Members will receive a confirmation email from Qatar Airways after they have successfully unlinked their accounts.
(d) Upon the death of a Linked Member, the Linked Member’s BAEC and Privilege Club accounts will be unlinked and the terms and conditions of each respective programme will apply.
(e) If a PC Member merges two Privilege Club accounts and the account chosen to be closed is linked to a BAEC account, the link will be terminated and the Member will have to link their BAEC account to their open Privilege Club account.
(a) Following successful account linking, Linked Members can move their Avios between accounts.
(b) Avios can be moved in either direction, without incurring any fee.
(c) There is no minimum or maximum number of Avios that can be moved between the Linked Member’s accounts. However, British Airways PLC and Qatar Airways reserve the right to impose certain limits in the event of suspected fraudulent transactions.
(d) There is no limit on the number of Avios movement transactions other than in cases of suspected fraud.
(e) Avios will be immediately credited to the target account at the rate of 1:1 and available to use.
(f) If Avios have not been successfully moved within twenty four (24) hours, Linked Members can contact British Airways here or Qatar Airways here.
(g) Only the Main Member of the Family Programme on a Privilege Club account can move Avios to their BAEC account.
(h) A member of a BAEC Household account can link their individual BAEC membership number to their Privilege Club account provided that they are over 18 years old. However, only their individual balance of Avios can be moved.
(i) Once Avios are moved to an account, the terms and conditions of the associated programme will apply i.e. the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions or the BAEC Terms and Conditions.
(j) Privilege Club Avios are issued, redeemed and expire in accordance with Privilege Club Terms and Conditions.
(k) BAEC Avios are issued by, and redeemed with, Avios Group (AGL) Limited, and also expire, in all cases in accordance with BAEC Terms and Conditions.
(l) The ability to move Avios is not available offline.
(a) Linked Members may redeem Avios from either or both of their linked accounts for Award tickets or Cash + Avios without moving Avios first. This feature is not available offline.
(b) Avios can be deducted from either or both accounts based on Linked Member choice and available balances at time of checkout as follows:
I. Linked accounts: Avios will be deducted from both accounts in proportion to the balance of each account.
II. Privilege Club first: Avios will be deducted from the Privilege Club account first, and any remainder will be deducted from the BAEC account.
III. BAEC first: Avios will be deducted from the BAEC account first, and any remainder will be deducted from the Privilege Club account.
(c) Change or refund of Award tickets and Cash + Avios tickets is only supported offline.
(d) If Award tickets or Cash + Avios tickets are refunded, all Avios to be refunded will be credited to the Linked Member’s Privilege Club account in accordance with the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions. A Linked Member may then move their Avios to their BAEC account if required provided that the Linked Member’s accounts remain linked. If the Linked Member unlinks their accounts before the refund is issued, the Avios credited into the Privilege Club account cannot be moved to BAEC unless the accounts are subsequently re-linked.
(a) BAEC uses Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) as an additional layer of security at login to ensure operation in line with GDPR regulations and best practices for account security.
(b) Privilege Club uses One Time Passwords (OTP) as an additional layer of security operation in line with GDPR regulations and best practices for account security.
(c) In some circumstances, the Member (or Linked Member as the case may be) will be required to complete both the British Airways MFA and Qatar Airways OTP during Avios transactions such as account linking, movement of Avios and redemption of Avios.
(a) Avios Group (AGL) Limited and British Airways PLC reserve the right to suspend a BAEC Member’s access to its BAEC account, remove any Avios from and close any BAEC account for any breach of these Terms and Conditions or the BAEC Terms and Conditions.
(b) Qatar Airways reserves the right to suspend a PC Member’s access to its Privilege Club account, remove any Avios and close any Privilege Club account for any breach of these Terms and Conditions or the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions.
(c) Avios do not have a fixed or par value and are not redeemable for cash.
(d) British Airways PLC, Avios Group (AGL) Limited and Qatar Airways reserve the right to change or modify these terms and conditions at any time.
(e) Neither British Airways PLC nor Avios Group (AGL) Limited is liable for any flight, accommodation, or any other rewards redemptions made through Privilege Club and Qatar Airways is not liable for the flights, accommodation, or any other rewards redemptions made through BAEC.
(f) Any personal information you supply will be used by British Airways PLC in accordance with its Privacy Policy, by Qatar Airways in accordance with its Privacy Notice and by Avios Group (AGL) Limited in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
(g) When linking accounts, the personal data of prospective Linked Members will be shared between British Airways PLC, Avios Group (AGL) Limited and Qatar Airways to facilitate the movement of Avios, and for marketing and analytical purposes.
(h) If there is a conflict between these Terms and Conditions and either the BAEC Terms and Conditions or the Privilege Terms and Conditions, the BAEC Terms and Conditions or the Privilege Terms and Conditions (as applicable) shall prevail over these Terms and Conditions.
(i) The limitations and exclusions of liability referred to in the BAEC Terms and Conditions and/or any terms and conditions of British Airways and Avios Group (AGL) Limited apply equally to these Terms and Conditions.
(j) The limitations and exclusions of liability referred to in the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions and/or any terms and conditions of Qatar Airways apply equally to these Terms and Conditions.
