Your ultimate Bali itinerary

Whether surfing in Uluwatu, rejuvenating in Ubud’s rice terraces, or exploring Denpasar’s historical sites – each location offers something different. With many exciting destinations to visit, here is your 7-day Bali itinerary to make the most of this Indonesian paradise.

Day 1: Sun and waves in Uluwatu

Begin your holiday in a place known for its world-class surfing and breathtaking sunsets, Uluwatu. The serene setting provides the perfect opportunity to relax and rejuvenate, before the rest of your Balinese expedition.

If you are a surfer, look no further than Uluwatu’s beaches. Padang Padang Beach is renowned for its white sands and incredible waves. If you’d prefer to relax, head to Suluban Beach for a mellow day. It’s a great spot for swimming, snorkelling and uncovering the sea caves.

Day 2: Uluwatu beach resort

If you go to Bali and don’t spend a day simply relaxing in your resort, you’ve not done Bali right. Spend your second day in Uluwatu at your beachside resort – idyllic for families and those seeking a holiday reset.

In the evening, make your way to Uluwatu Temple – perched on top of the cliff, the sunset views from here are spectacular. Watch the Tari Kecak dance and embrace the rich Balinese culture.

Day 3: Seminyak vibes

Seminyak is a popular destination for tourists, teeming with vibrant beach clubs, upscale boutiques, and exceptional dining.

Visit Seminyak Beach then enjoy the local flavours at Seminyak Night Market. Indulge in dishes such as nasi lemak, and meander the stalls of artisanal crafts and souvenirs. Seminyak has many clothes tailors too, if you can have your creations sent to you back home.

Day 4: Canggu & Tanah Lot

While there are a few terraced rice fields, Canggu’s are worth discovering. Start your day with a yoga session overlooking the lush, verdant fields. Then wander through the Tanah Lot Temple, a sacred sea temple on a rocky outcrop.

Canggu is also known for its café culture, with plenty of vegan delicacies and nourishing meals. Stroll through bazaars, such as Love Anchor Market by evening to find bespoke handicrafts.

Day 5: Tranquility in Ubud

Ubud is surrounded by luscious landscapes and ancient temples. With many natural landmarks to see, it is often wondered how many days should be spent there – at least two days is recommended.

First, stop at the Tegalalang Rice Terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Admire the phenomenal outlook and traditional farming practices, then embark on a trek to Tukad Cepung Waterfall. Hidden within a canyon, it’s a stunning scene.

Start your day trekking the Campuhan Ridge Walk. Ideal for both experienced hikers and recreational walkers, this 4km trail is dotted with mesmerising views of the valleys and impressive river gorges.

Swing by the Monkey Forest Sanctuary to witness these playful animals in their natural Ubud habitat. You may even have the opportunity to try the kopi luwak coffee!

Day 7: Denpasar

Delve into Bali’s abundant cultural heritage in Denpasar, with a visit to Tirta Empul. This sacred water temple is famous for its cleansing pools, and Bajra Sanghi Monument. In the afternoon, scout the markets of Sindhu. Local artisans showcase their craftmanship at this bazaar, with special souvenirs to conclude your Balinese holiday.
