Student Club
Terms and conditions

2.1 You must enrol in the Qatar Airways Student Club (the “Student Club”), in order to avail the exclusive Benefits available for Students Members. Subject to local laws and parental or guardian approval, where applicable, individuals aged eighteen (18) years up to 30 years old may apply for membership as a Student Member by completing an application form on qatarairways.com. Membership is not available for corporate entities, partnerships, associations or other groups. 

2.2 If you are already a Privilege Club Main Member or Family Member you can enrol in the Student Club if you are eligible to become a Student Member (as defined above).

2.3 By applying for membership, you are required to agree to these Terms and Conditions and the Qatar Airways Privilege Club Terms and Conditions. Membership is granted at the sole discretion of Qatar Airways and Qatar Airways may refuse membership to any applicant at its own and entire discretion. 

2.4 Student Member will receive a digital membership card only, which is downloadable for print out or digital wallet from his or her personal Account dashboard.

3.1 You will be asked to verify your status as a Student after registration as a Student Member. It is mandatory to provide supporting documents such as university or college letter, student identification card, student visa, official acceptance letter from accredited college or university upon enrolment and, as may be required by Qatar Airways, on a yearly basis.

3.2 It is mandatory to provide the expected Graduation Date when enrolling in the Student Club and it is the Student Member’s responsibility to update such Graduation Date in the event of any changes.

4.1 The Student Member account will be deactivated and auto-converted to Privilege Club as a Main Member account upon the occurrence of one of the following events (whichever comes earlier): (i) six (6) months after the Graduation Date (submitted during enrolment), (ii) on the date of the 31st birthday of the Student Member, (iii) on the date the Student Member ceases to be enrolled as a student or (iv) on the date of completion of seven (7) years from the date of enrolment as a Student Member.  

4.2 Student Members may extend their membership to the Student Club beyond the seven (7) year period upon submission of evidence of the continuity of their studies and updating their new Graduation Date.

5.1 The same four (4) Membership Tiers of the Privilege Club apply to the Student Club. Your Membership Tier status determines the Benefits you will receive from Qatar Airways and its Partners. New Members join Student Club at the Burgundy Membership Tier, except in the case of an existing Privilege Club member who will be converted to a Student Member in his or her existing Membership Tier.  

5.2 Students Members can avail an upgrade to the next tier in the Privilege Club on the Graduation Date subject to the following:

a) submission of supporting documents to Qatar Airways (including but not limited to, proof of graduation and Degree completion) and the minimum flight criteria having been met. Student Members should provide the proof of graduation documents within a maximum of six (6) months from the Graduation Date; and

b) you have flown at least one (1) round-trip journey or two (2) one-way journeys on Qatar Airways’ operated and marketed flights per year from enrolment date to the Student Club. These journeys cannot be redemption tickets.

6.1 Student Members enjoy the following exclusive Benefits in addition to the Benefits which apply to their Membership Tier in the Privilege Club: 

6.1.1 Special Fares on Flights

Student Members will receive promo codes for discounts which are valid for a single booking made on qatarairways.com for up to four (4) flights including on one-way journeys to be flown by the Student Member and up to three (3) Companions.

The fare displayed at the time of booking is inclusive of the discount and the total amount of taxes to be paid.

The following fare discounts will be applied at the time of booking: 

(a) The fare discount for the first ticket(s) will be 10% (ten percent) off the published ticket(s) price;

(b) The fare discount for the second ticket(s) will be 15% (fifteen percent) off the published ticket(s) price;

(c) The fare discount for the third ticket and fourth ticket will be 20% (twenty percent) off the published ticket(s) price.

The above discounts apply to the base fare only of the selected fare classes and do not apply to the taxes and all other surcharges which are to be borne by the Student Member and / or his or her Companion(s). All fare discounts are only valid for bookings made with the unique promo code in the confirmation email sent to the Student Member’s registered email address.  

Subject to the Student Club applicable terms, the fare discount offered under the Student Club program will apply if the fare is purchased as a “through fare” from partners but the actual discount is applicable on Qatar Airways operated flights only.

The Student Member will be able to benefit from the fare discount for the second ticket only after the completion of the first sector of the first flight booking. After the first sector of the first flight has been flown, the Student Member will receive a confirmation email containing a unique promo code in order to access the fare discount for the second ticket.

The Student Member will be able to benefit from the fare discount for the third ticket after the completion of the first sector of the second flight booking. After the first sector of the second flight has been flown, the Student Member will receive a confirmation email containing a unique promo code in order to access the fare discount for the third ticket. 

The Student Member will only be able to benefit from the fare discount for the fourth ticket after the completion of the first sector of the third flight booking. After the first sector of the third flight has been flown, the Student Member will receive a confirmation email containing a unique promo code in order to access the fare discount for the fourth ticket.

The exclusions in sub-clause 8.4 (b) of the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions shall not apply to discounted tickets provided as part of Student Club to Student Members and Avios earned will be according to the values published through the My Calculator on Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club website. Any other Avios accrual shall be in accordance with the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions. 

The Conditions of Carriage and applicable fare rules apply to all flight bookings on Qatar Airways.

Special Fares shall be valid for the period from 1st November 2020 until 31st March 2026 (inclusive) for a travel period starting from 1st November 2020.  

6.1.2 Additional Baggage Allowance

Student Members in Burgundy Membership Tier may benefit from an extra baggage allowance of one (1) piece of baggage or ten (10) kgs (as applicable to the specific route) when travelling on Qatar Airways’ operated flights. Students Members who are holding Silver, Gold, or Platinum Membership Tiers will continue to avail of their respective Tier benefits for baggage allowance as per the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions.

To benefit from the additional baggage allowance, the Student Member who made the booking shall present his / her digital Student Club membership card together with his or her student ID or a university acceptance letter or student visa at the time of check-in.

The discount and additional baggage allowance are not valid with codeshare and interline partnerships.

6.1.3 Date change flexibility

A maximum of two (2) date changes is permitted free of cost for Light, Classic and Convenience booking in Economy class and Light, Classic and Comfort bookings in Business class. For Comfort booking in Economy class and Elite booking in Business class, the Student Member will be eligible to unlimited date changes free of cost. Penalty and service fees normally incurred for a change of date will be waived subject to the applicable fare rules. However, in the event of any difference in fares between the original date booked and the new date chosen, the difference in amount shall be paid by the Student Member. For any additional date changes, the standard date change fees apply as per the applicable fare rules. 

6.1.4 Travel with a friend and save with Companion Pass

See Clause 7 below for further details.

6.1.5 Complimentary Onboard Wi-Fi

Onboard Wi-Fi is available on selected Qatar Airways operated or marketed flights only. Click here to view the list of aircraft where Onboard Wi-Fi is available https://www.qatarairways.com/en/onboard/connectivity.html. The Onboard Wi-Fi voucher(s) will be sent to the Student Member via email after booking on qatarairways.com including the fare discount promo code provided that the booking contains flights where Onboard Wi-Fi is enabled.  

6.2 You are required to produce your Membership Card and provide your Membership Number to Qatar Airways or its Partners when making the booking, checking in, travelling or otherwise using any Benefits.

7.1 Student Members can invite up to three (3) friends or family members to become Companions to plan trips together and enjoy special fares on Qatar Airways’ flights and benefit from complimentary date changes as per the applicable fare rules.

7.2 To nominate your Companions, you are required to log into your Account and select Student Companions from the Travel Companion tab and provide the required information including the name and email address of the Companion(s). Once added to the Student Member’s profile, changes to any of the Companions will be possible only after six (6) months from the first date of registration of Companions.

7.3 Each Companion shall meet the following requirements: 

a) Subject to local laws and parental or guardian approval where applicable, be eighteen (18) years and above; and

b) Complete verification and be a Privilege Club Main Member or Family Member; (If not a member of the Privilege Club, you can invite them to join the Privilege Club by sharing the invitation link); and

c) Agree to be added to the Student Member’s profile as a Companion. 

7.4 Student Members will receive promo codes for discounts which are valid for a single booking made on qatarairways.com for up to four (4) ticket bookings which can comprise of the Student Member and up to three (3) Companions as detailed under section 6.1.1 above.

7.5 The fare displayed at the time of booking is inclusive of the discount and the total amount of taxes to be paid.

7.6 To access the discounts, the Student Member and the Companions must travel together on the entire journey booked. The original booking cannot be split.

7.7 For each booking made using the promo code for the Student Member and up to three (3) Companions, the following applies:

One (1) or more date changes permitted free of cost depending on the fare family booked and in accordance with the applicable fare rules. 

7.8 Companions are not eligible to Onboard Wi-Fi voucher and extra baggage allowances which are an exclusive Benefits to the Student Members unless the Companion is entitled to such Benefits in accordance with his or her Privilege Club Tier Membership.

8.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Qatar. Each Student shall submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the State of Qatar to resolve disputes arising in connection with the Student Club. Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary, Qatar Airways shall have the right to initiate proceedings before any competent courts worldwide, as Qatar Airways deems it fit.  

8.2 Qatar Airways may in its sole and absolute discretion terminate or suspend membership to the Student Club, or end the Student Club for any reason whatsoever at any time, without incurring any cost or liability as a result of using this right.

8.3 We reserve the right to audit a Student Member's account and records without notice to the Student Member to check for compliance and verify the documentation provided for eligibility to the Student Club. If for any reason the Student Member is unable to verify his or her status as a Student then the Student Member will automatically be registered only as a Privilege Club Main Member. 

8.4 Qatar Airways will not be liable for any kind of loss or damage, including (without limitation) any loss or reduction in a Student Member’s advantages and any detriment or disadvantage, resulting from any alteration to, suspension or termination of the Student Club. 

8.5 The limitations and exclusions of liability referred to in the Conditions of Carriage shall apply in relation to Students’ travel with Qatar Airways. 

8.6 In order to join the Student Club and avail Student Club offers, it is necessary for Qatar Airways to process the Student’s personal data for the performance of these Terms and Conditions, in accordance with clause 21 [Your Personal Data and security of your Account] of the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions and Qatar Airways’ Privacy Notice. 

8.7 Qatar Airways and its partners do not guarantee the availability, and / or continuity of any offer or other benefits. For the avoidance of doubt, partners include Qatar Airways codeshare partners, which may be amended from time to time.
