Food in Colombo

Colombo’s culinary scene is a feast for the taste buds. Sample the world-famous Singapore chilli crab, which is actually caught in Sri Lanka. Whether steamed, grilled or cooked in a spicy sauce, these crustaceans are a must-try. 

Savour the flavours of Sri Lankan cuisine with a hearty plate of Sri Lankan rice and curry or embrace the street food markets. Order kottu roti – sliced roti blended with your choice of meat, egg, vegetables and spices.
