Book your visit to Philadelphia

Known as the City of Brotherly Love, there’s no doubt you can feel right at home in Philadelphia. It’s the birthplace of America, where the ideals of freedom and independence took root and you can find echoes of its revolutionary past at every turn.

However, Philadelphia, or Philly as it’s playfully referred to, is more than just its storied past. Its neighbourhoods buzz with creativity, art and energy. Wander down streets decorated with colourful murals or head to the scenic waterfront for an idyllic evening stroll. Culinary enthusiasts are also in for a treat with internationally-acclaimed dishes and bustling markets that tempt you to savour every flavour the city has to offer.

Whether you’re here for the museums, the cheesesteaks or the historical landmarks, Philly will draw you in.

Things to do in Philadelphia

If you know of one attraction to see in Philadelphia, it’s likely the Liberty Bell – a symbol of freedom, with its famous crack that’s echoed through centuries of American history. Continue the historical journey and step into the footsteps of revolutionaries at the Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed.

Embrace Philly’s spirit of grit and resilience at the Rocky Statue and the iconic Rocky Steps. Join the masses jogging up the steps, recreating that legendary moment. When you reach the top, the sweeping views of the city are a reward of their own.

Meander through Love Park, where the picturesque LOVE sculpture stands tall. End your day along the Delaware River waterfront, with its lively boardwalk, restaurants and scenic views.

A trip to Philadelphia wouldn’t be complete without a world-famous Philly cheesesteak. This mouth-watering combo of thinly sliced steak, melted cheese, and onions are packed into a soft roll. There’s an art to ordering it too. You can say, “I want a philly cheesesteak whiz wit”, for cheese whiz and onions – the classic way to go.

The Reading Terminal Market is a must-visit, where you can order soft Philly pretzels – golden and chewy, with just the right amount of salt. Over at the Italian Market, vendors serve up hoagies, loaded with meats, cheese and vegetables tucked into a long, Italian roll. Try tomato pie too – a Sicilian-style pizza with thick, focaccia-like dough topped with tomato sauce and a sprinkle of parmesan.

Finally, for a sweet treat, try water ice. This smooth, refreshing dessert is made from Italian ice and comes in a variety of fruity flavours. You get also get it topped with custard, which is called a gelati.
