Flying from Yangon

This ancient country has a very modern airport, and passengers flying from Yangon with Qatar Airways will find it to be an extremely efficient and friendly departure point where the passenger experience is of primary concern to the courteous, approachable staff.
Currently undergoing extensive modernisation, it is nevertheless a well-appointed and well run airport that is popular with travellers.
Transportation and parking
Yangon is just 15km from the airport, and plentiful buses and taxis take passengers from the airport to its terminals.
There are two railway stations a short taxi ride from the airport terminals, where local trains forming part of the Yangon Circular Railway link to the city’s central station. The journey time to the city is around 40-50 minutes and fares are incredibly cheap (around a dollar).
Taxis from central Yangon take around 30 minutes, but be sure to only use authorised taxis and agree the fare (around $15) with the driver beforehand.
Arriving in Yangon
Passengers flying from Yangon with Qatar Airways depart from the International terminal. This modern, spacious and well-organised terminal has a large departures area that is well signposted with information boards.
However, be aware that security in Myanmar is very tight, so allow around two hours before your flight is due to depart to check in and to clear customs checks.
Facilities and amenities
Free Wi-Fi is available in the international terminal, but it can be a little intermittent at times. There are a number of Bureau de Changes and it is advisable to change local currency (the Burmese Kyat) before you leave the country.
ATM machines are also available. There are self-service cafés in the public areas, while the international VIP lounge has its own dining options. There are several retail outlets selling local goods, as well as Duty Free shops and travel accessories outlets.

A tour of the palace will take you through hundreds of years of Spanish history in a series of galleries, exhibits and collections of armour, jewellery and ceramics. Be prepared for a long day’s sightseeing, but the effort is certainly worth it and gives you a greater understanding of Spanish culture.
The ‘Museum Triangle’ is Madrid’s museum district, and home to some of the most important galleries and museums in Europe, including Museo del Prado, Reina Sofía National Museum and Art Center, and the Naval Museum. Other museums around the city that are well worth a visit include the American Museum (Museo de América), the Museo de Historia de Madrid and the National Archaeology Museum.
