One of the most imposing buildings in the city is the Sabancı Merkez Camii mosque, which sits on the left bank of the Seyhan River. The city is filled with mosques, and the stunning Ulu Cami mosque is one of the oldest. It dates to the 16th century, and is famous for its bold black and white marble designs and intricately carved window frames.
