With so much to see and do, you’ll be hard-pressed to decide which attractions to see first on your trip to Cleveland. Perhaps the most famous site is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where anyone with an interest in music can see stage-wear and rare artefacts from some of the biggest names in music history. Right next door you’ll find the Great Lakes Science Center, an amazingly interactive attraction that is educational, entertaining and perfect for the whole family.

If there are sports fans in your ranks, then a trip to the First Energy Stadium, home of the Cleveland Browns, is a must. Here, you can watch the glamour, glitz and armoured acrobatics of American Football and even take a backstage tour. In nearby Canton, you’ll find the Pro Football Hall of Fame, where you can immerse yourself in the history of the game through exhibits and items from luminaries of this great sport.  Other local sports teams include the Cavaliers of the NBA and the Indians of Major League Baseball.

Cedar Point Amusement Park is ideal for families travelling to Cleveland with children. With sky-scraping roller-coaster rides, the USA’s largest indoor water park and a wave pool where you can jump on a board and get surfing, this makes for an exciting and memorable day out. From there, you can catch a catamaran to South Bass Island, which has plenty of cafés and adventure playgrounds for children.

Holidaymakers who want to take things easy will find plenty of open spaces and natural beauty to enjoy. A boat trip to Kelley’s Island is a truly tranquil way to spend a day, where you can spot wildlife and get to grips with some fantastic fishing.

If you’ve hired a car, then you’ll have access to an attraction that no trip to Cleveland should ignore. It might be a three-hour drive, but Niagara Falls is something to put on the top of the list. The roads are easy to navigate and, if you take your passport and visa, you can walk across the Rainbow Bridge and put your feet on Canadian soil.A great way to explore a country’s culture is with a visit to the theatre. Playhouse Square is a theatre-goer’s paradise, with a number of theatres playing host to comedy stars, ballet companies, luminaries from the world of opera and some of the biggest Broadway shows. Alternatively, make your way to the Blossom Music Center, an open-air amphitheatre, where you can listen to classical music, whilst enjoying a picnic.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that Cleveland cuisine is mainly made up of burgers and fizzy drinks – although Clevelanders do burgers like no-one else. However, there is a burgeoning gourmet scene to explore when you travel to Cleveland.

The Warehouse district is the one to explore if you’re looking for fish, but don’t pass up the deep-pan pizzas and make sure you try a piece of apple pie – a traditional Cleveland desert.

Shopping on a trip to Cleveland is an eclectic experience that will see you negotiating your way through sprawling malls to hunting out unique items in traditional stores.

Chinatown, with all its smells and musical chatter, is a great place to lose yourself in for an afternoon but, 4th and 5th street are the most historic shopping areas of the city and offer a more traditional take on shopping.
