Flying from Durban

This excellent airport offers customers flying from Durban with Qatar Airways an outstanding start to their journey, with high-quality facilities, friendly and helpful staff and an exuberant African atmosphere. Underneath this bright exterior is an efficient and highly professional operation that is popular with both business and leisure travellers to and from the African continent.
Transportation and parking
Coastal Motor Transport provides regular shuttle buses to and from Durban’s city centre. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes, although a more comfortable option for customers travelling with luggage would be to book one of the many taxis available. Your hotel concierge will be able to pre-arrange a taxi on your behalf, which is advisable so that you avoid illegal taxi touts. Drivers can access the airport by taking the N2 highway. Parking, providing accommodation for about 2,000 vehicles, is available for both long- and short-term stays and within walking distance of the terminals.
At the airport
Customers flying from Durban with Qatar Airways depart from the International Departures lounge of the main terminal. The 72 check-in desks and 18 self-service kiosks are located on the upper floor. Be aware that security is very tight at the airport, so it is advisable to arrive at least two hours before your plane is due to depart so that you can pass through check-in and security with minimum fuss. Lounge areas are available for customers, with private lounges for First and Business class passengers.

The airport has a good selection of food and drink vendors, offering everything from light refreshments and beverages to more substantial meals and international cuisine. Of particular renown is the Sushi restaurant in the Departures lounge.
