The following terms and conditions supplement any other terms and conditions applicable at the time of booking or upgrading. In particular, please read these terms and conditions together with the Conditions of Carriage and the Qatar Airways Privacy Notice. These terms and conditions apply to a flight upgrade offer, which is stated in the communication you received from Qatar Airways.
- To benefit from the upgrade offer, you must be at least 21 years of age and have the capacity to enter into binding contracts. If you are acting on behalf of someone else, you must also have the authority to act on behalf of, and bind the person(s) eligible for the upgrade offer, to these terms and conditions.
- You may only upgrade the flight stated in the communication received from Qatar Airways, and not any other flights included in your booking.
- You may only upgrade a flight marketed and operated by Qatar Airways.
- You may only upgrade a flight to the next travel class.
- You may only upgrade one flight.
- The upgrade will apply to all passengers included the booking, and not only select passengers.
- If the upgrade offer is communicated via an email or push notification, you must upgrade your flight within the specified timeframe by clicking on the link provided in that communication.
- You may upgrade your flight once your booking is paid for and your ticket is issued.
- Seats in your chosen travel class are subject to availability at the time of upgrading. Seat availability is not guaranteed until the upgrade is paid for and an updated ticket is issued.
- If the upgrade is to Business Class, Qsuite is available only on select routes and may also be unavailable for operational reasons due to aircraft change.
- Qatar Airways reserves the right to change, limit or revoke an upgrade at any time before it is paid for and an updated ticket is issued.
- Upgrades are at the discretion of Qatar Airways, subject to availability and are non-transferable.
- You may pay the upgrade fee with any credit card accepted by Qatar Airways.
- The upgrade fee is subject to change at the discretion of Qatar Airways and will include all applicable taxes and charges.
- Once the timeframe specified in the email or push notification has lapsed, Qatar Airways: (a) reserves the right to invalidate the upgrade and decline payment processing; and (b) accepts no responsibility for failures to process payments
- If your credit card is charged with the upgrade fee, but you cannot upgrade because no seats are available in your chosen travel class, the upgrade fee will be refunded to the credit card used at the time of payment. The processing time for any refund is dependent on the card issuer.
- If Qatar Airways changes or cancels the flight that you upgraded, the upgrade fee will be refunded and compensation policies will apply.
- The amount of Avios collected is at the discretion of Qatar Airways and depends on the travel class that the member upgrades to, whether they upgrade online or at the airport, and when they upgrade. This applies to Privilege Club members and members of partner airlines’ loyalty programmes.
- The amount of Qpoints earned by a Privilege Club member is at the discretion of Qatar Airways and depends on the travel class that they upgrade to, whether they upgrade online or at the airport, and when they upgrade.
- Baggage allowance is at the discretion of Qatar Airways, and depends on the travel class that you upgrade to, whether you upgrade online or at the airport, and when you upgrade.
- Lounge access is at the discretion of Qatar Airways, and depends on the travel class that you upgrade to, whether you upgrade online or at the airport, and when you upgrade.
- Additional fees may apply to seat selection, depending on the travel class that you upgrade to and whether you choose your seat before check-in opens.
- Any unused add-ons such as seat selection or lounge access, that are purchased prior to the online upgrade that are subsequently not utilised in new cabin, can be refunded by contacting us.
- Qatar Airways accepts no responsibility for special meal requests that are not fulfilled after a flight is upgraded. Please check any special requests using ‘Manage booking’.
