Flying from Paris
Just 14 miles northeast of Paris is Charles de Gaulle International Airport, France’s largest air hub and one of the most important international travel points in Europe. In 2015 it was awarded the Skytrax award for the World’s most improved airport, and its airport shopping facilities and services are rated in the top five and top 10 in the world respectively.
Combined with outstanding transportation connecting it to the French capital and excellent levels of services, Charles de Gaulle International Airport is among the best in the world.
Transportation and parking
Transport to and from the airport is excellent, with a network of trains, buses, and underground services connecting the airport to the capital. The SNCF main line station at Paris CDG is called Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV and is located between terminals 2C-2D and 2E-2F. The airport is also linked by the RER B service to Paris and the suburbs.
This service runs to and from Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 1, which is closest to Terminals 1 and 3. A fleet of taxis is available around the clock, and limousines are also available for pre-booking. Passengers flying from Paris with Qatar Airways should park in the car parks closest to Terminal 2. Long-stay parking is located opposite Terminals 1 and 3.
Arriving at Charles de Gaulle International Airport
Passengers flying from Paris with Qatar Airways will depart from Terminal 1. An on-line check in service is available. Escalators will take you up to the departure area.
Major functions such as check in and baggage claim are located in the centre of the terminal, with departure gates distributed around the outer ring.
Facilities and amenities
Departing guests can find different facilities in Terminal T1, including a selection of retail outlets selling high-end luxury goods.
Changing areas and rest areas are dotted throughout the terminal, and this being Paris there is an excellent selection of food and drink outlets selling everything from coffee and croissants through to full a la carte menu meals.
Arriving in Phuket
Phuket is actually Thailand’s largest island, and is a hugely popular destination for adventure tourists and travellers wishing to discover more about this enigmatic country. A tropical paradise blended with a vibrant and energetic metropolis, it is also a big draw for entrepreneurs and business travellers, thanks to a burgeoning high-tech sector.
Book a flight to Phuket with Qatar Airways and discover the gateway to Thailand. Famous for its flowers and the warm, friendly welcome visitors receive from its inhabitants, there is also plenty to see and do in Phuket. It is little wonder that Phuket is usually in the top ten of must-see destinations around the world.
Tourist attractions
As an island, fishing is central to the culture of the local people. The AC's Phuket Fishing Park allows visitors to go fishing for arapaimas, red-tailed catfish, alligator gars, and Siamese giant carp. If you prefer to watch wildlife rather than catch it then a visit to the Chana Charoen Road Crocodile Farm is an exhilarating experience.
Thailand’s Buddhist temples and statues are spectacular, and none more so than the Big Buddha, a white marble statue on the top of Naka Kerd Mountain, where you can also get a fabulous, bird’s eye view over Phuket’s east coast. Another great spot to see those extraordinary sunsets is Prom Thep Cape, 1.5 miles from Rawai Beach.
For something a little more unusual (and truly mind-boggling), try the Phuket Trick Eye Museum, a gallery of 3D paintings and optical illusions. Siam Niramit Phuket Arts Theatre puts on fascinating plays and performances that immerse visitors in the local culture, or check out the truly bizarre Baan Teelanka & A-Maze-in-Phuke, a house that has been built completely upside down and with a garden maze that will keep the kids amused for hours.
Travel Considerations
Flights to Phuket with Qatar Airways land at Phuket International Airport, in the north of Phuket Island. Visa restrictions for entry into the country will depend on your country of origin, length of stay and whether your trip is for business or pleasure. Before you fly to Phuket please check the visa and passport requirements.
