Listed as one of the fastest growing cities in the world by Forbes, Ahmedabad is a little off the usual tourist path. Visitors booking a flight to Ahmedabad with Qatar Airways will discover a city that is warm, welcoming and full of interest, whether you’re here on business or want to discover the ‘real’ India.

Kenya’s capital and largest city is also its fastest growing tourist destination. Nairobi is a vibrant, multicultural metropolis, with a rich café culture and a lively nightlife. There are so many places to visit in Nairobi from its heritage and traditional markets, to spectacular waterfalls and stunning national parks.

If you want to embark on a unique wildlife experience, then Nairobi is the place for you. Here you’ll find some of the world’s most vulnerable species, including elephants, black rhinoceroses, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards, lions and buffaloes, not far from the city centre. Be sure to take a safari tour during your visit to see these creatures in their natural habitat.

Book a flight ticket to Nairobi with Qatar Airways and discover this jewel in Africa’s crown.

Flying from Miami

The Sunshine State’s main airport serves one of the United States largest cities, and is one of only eight US airports currently able to accommodate the new A380 Airbus.

The focus in this bright, efficient airport is on customer service, and passengers flying from Miami with Qatar Airways will find the staff incredibly friendly and welcoming, making departures from this international air hub a real pleasure.

In 2014 it was voted as one of the world’s best airports serving 40-50 million passengers at the Skytrax World Airport Awards.

Parking and transportation

Miami International Airport is exceptionally well served with public transport, with direct links to Miami-Dade Transit's Metrorail, Metrobus network, the Greyhound Bus Lines and to the Tri-Rail commuter rail system.

The MIA Mover is a passenger movement system that transports passengers between terminals and Miami Central Station. Both bus and rail coverage is extensive, fast, reliable and affordable. Add to this a fleet of efficient taxis and limousine services and you have a comprehensive ground transport system that’s admired throughout the aviation industry.

Car parking is also plentiful, with a total of 8,233 spaces, and valet parking available in the Dolphin and Flamingo garages on the departure level, across from concourses D and J.

Arriving at Miami

Passengers flying from Miami with Qatar Airways depart from the North Terminal Concourse D. This is a huge terminal, so it is important to ensure that you check upon arrival for the correct check in gates as marked on the automated display boards.

Alternatively, call ahead to confirm your flight and departure time, concourse and gate, or check online at www.miami-airport.com. You will need to arrive at least two hours before your departure time to clear check in and customs.

Facilities and amenities

Miami International Airport has an exceptional selection of facilities and amenities, as one would expect from such a large air hub. Concourse D has two multi-media auditoriums that can be booked for business functions, and Wi-Fi is available in some public areas and lounges.

There is a wide range of award-winning shops and retail outlets selling exclusive, luxury goods and accessories, and an excellent selection of cafés, restaurants and food outlets serving international cuisine.

Arriving in Nairobi

vibrant and colourful city is big, bold and brash, providing visitors with a typically boisterous and incredibly warm African welcome.

Book a flight to Nairobi with Qatar Airways and you’ll discover a country and people full of energy. Modern sits along traditional, and the skyscrapers of the commercial sector stand next to open markets where traditional goods are still on sale every day. This melting pot of cultures is one of those once-in-a-lifetime destinations that should be on everyone’s bucket list.

Tourist attractions

Most people who travel to Nairobi intend to go on into the African bush to go on Safari. But if you pause for a while there is plenty in Nairobi itself to discover too. Head up to the top of the Kenyatta International Conference Center’s viewing tower and you can have a panoramic view of the city below you.

Nairobi also has some good museums, including the Nairobi National Museum, where visitors can learn more about the history and culture of Kenya, the National Railway Museum, which charts the importance of the railroad in the development of the country, and the Nairobi Gallery, home to a constantly changing collection of modern African art by up and coming artists.

You cannot escape the importance of Kenya’s wildlife, and around Nairobi there are plenty of sanctuaries where you can see some of the country’s most endangered inhabitants. The charming Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage provides a home to orphaned elephants and rhinos from all over Africa, While the Giraffe Centre in Lang'ata is of international importance as a breeding centre for the endangered Rothschild giraffe.

And while most visitors head to Nairobi National Park, a quieter and less crowded alternative is the delightful Ol Donyo Sabuk National Park, a refuge for Colobus monkeys, leopards and countless species of birds.

Travel Considerations

Flights to Nairobi with Qatar Airways land at JKIA Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, southeast of the city centre.

Visa restrictions for entry into the country will depend on your country of origin, length of stay and whether your trip is for business or pleasure. Before you fly to Nairobi please check the visa and passport requirements.
