Check-in for rail segment
Please remember to check-in for your rail-segment via www.rail-checkin.com to receive your train ticket. It is recommended to check-in as early as possible but not earlier than 180 days in advance. You can either print out your train ticket or present it on your mobile device.
Infants under the age of 2 years do not require a train ticket and therefore do not need to be checked in.
In case of a rebooking or cancellation, your train ticket will be automatically cancelled. You will receive a cancellation confirmation by e-mail, and you will be requested to check in again to get a new train ticket.
You need the following documents for validation during your train journey:
- Train ticket: printout or on mobile device
- Flight itinerary/itinerary receipt
- Valid passport/government-issued ID card
Please keep the train ticket until the end of the journey in case of further inspections.
Irregularities
Should your inbound flight be delayed and you miss your connecting train, you are entitled to use the next possible train to your destination without any further rebooking. On the train you can use any empty seat in the booked class of travel. For train schedule information please refer to the information displays, railway staff or www.bahn.com.
Should your train be delayed and you miss your connecting flight, please contact the Qatar Airways airport staff in order to arrange the rebooking to the next possible flight.
Transfer
Please note that the actual train number will be printed on your train ticket and not on the Qatar Airways flight ticket. At the railway station, passengers need to be present on the platform at least five (5) minutes prior to departure to ensure adequate boarding time.
- Frankfurt (FRA)
The DB long-distance train station is located in Terminal 1. You can reach Terminal 2 for Qatar Airways flights in less than 30 minutes by shuttle bus or SkyLine. Follow the connecting corridor to Terminal 1 within walking distance, then either use the shuttle bus from the bus station in front of Terminal 1 (Level 1), Area B, or board the SkyLine in Terminal 1, Area B, which will take you to Terminal 2 (journey time approx. 25 minutes).
- Dusseldorf (DUS)
The DB long-distance train station is located on the east side of the airport grounds. The SkyTrain, a fully automatic cabin railway, takes you within 7 minutes from the train station to the terminal building.
- Berlin (BER)
Qatar Airways flights operate from Terminal 1 and the railway station at the airport is directly located below Terminal 1.
- Munich (MUC)
The check-in area of Qatar Airways is located in Terminal 1, Module A. The S1 and S8 S-Bahn lines connect the airport (Terminal 1 and 2) to the Munich city center at 20-minute intervals.
Expectant mothers
Qatar Airways policy applies.
Unaccompanied Minors
Unaccompanied Minor services are not available onboard Deutsche Bahn trains.
Special assistance for handicapped passengers
We cannot guarantee a wheelchair space on the trains.
One wheelchair space per train is provided on DB’s ICE trains to allow passengers to travel in their wheelchairs, but this space cannot be guaranteed and needs to be reserved in advance.
DB trains do not have on-board wheelchairs. The symbol é is displayed at railway stations and on-board the trains to indicate facilities for people of reduced mobility.
Meals
DB does not provide special meals to its rail passengers free of charge. Meals or refreshments are available on ICE trains. First class passengers may purchase a meal either at their seat or in the bar compartment. Second class passengers may purchase a meal or refreshment at the bar or refreshment at their seat (by trolley service).
Passengers can find a variety of hot and cold dishes, sandwiches, snacks, salads, hot/cold beverages at the bar or restaurant during their rail journey.
Landing at the airport and transferring to the train
Baggage will not be checked through to the final railway station therefore after landing at the Airport, please pick up your luggage at the regular luggage claim area and follow the signs to the long-distance railway station.
Taking the train to the airport and transferring to your flight
When arriving at the Airport long-distance railway station, please leave the train together with your luggage and look for the Qatar Airways luggage drop-off.
Luggage on board the train
On the train, DB baggage policy applies.

Wheelchairs (if reserved) and assisting devices will be carried free-of-charge for disabled passengers on the codeshare train services and are not included in the free baggage allowance.
There is no luggage check-in for the train. You will carry your luggage on board of the train where you will find various racks to store your luggage. Please take care that your luggage does not block any exits or gangways.
Pets
Qatar Airways policy applies.
Qatar Airways dangerous goods policy is applicable for the Qatar Airways flight.
Oxygen
DB does not provide therapeutic oxygen on any of its trains. You may use personal oxygen while aboard DB trains, but you must inform the train conductor of your intention to do so.
Incubators and stretchers
DB will not accept stretcher cases or allow the use of incubators on the codeshare train services.
Weapons
Taking weapons and ammunition in trains is prohibited. The special conditions of carriage specify the exceptions and the procedures in those cases.
