Book flights from Jakarta to Amsterdam with Qatar Airways

Book a flight from Jakarta to Amsterdam with Qatar Airways and experience maximum comfort during your journey while your needs are tended to by our award-winning cabin crew, who go the extra mile to make your journey pleasant. Enjoy delicious cuisine from a delectable menu, while reclining in the comfort of ergonomically-designed seating.

The Netherlands capital is famous for its canals, lined by narrow, gabled houses built during the 17th century, when the city was flourishing. Their colourful, gabled façades make the perfect background for photographs when you come here with Qatar Airways. Other highlights include the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and Stedelijk, all conveniently located close to each other in the Museum District. The vast Vondelpark is the perfect open space for a pleasant walk and Dam Square in the city centre has excellent eateries.

Arriving in Amsterdam

One of the most historically and culturally important cities in Europe, Amsterdam has been at the centre of trade, commerce, and the diamond industry for hundreds of years. Built on the riches of tulip bulbs, which were at one time quite literally worth their weight in gold, its fabulous merchants’ houses and meandering streets have hardly changed since the 1800s. However, alongside its cobbled streets and those iconic canals is a 21st century financial and banking centre of international importance. As well as millions of tourists, the city welcomes hundreds of thousands of business travellers every year, making this one of the busiest and most vibrant cities in Europe.

Fly to Amsterdam with Qatar Airways and you’ll discover a city of coffee shops and art galleries, luxury shopping and relaxing canal cruises, making this an ideal destination all year round. Visit in the winter when the canals freeze over and you’ll even be able to drink your morning coffee on the frozen surface of the central canals – a genuinely unique experience.

Tourist attractions

Amsterdam is full of great tourist attractions, from superb art galleries and museums to the medieval splendour of the city centre. You’ll see very few high-rises or skyscrapers in old Amsterdam, as for centuries no building could be taller than the highest church. Dam Square is the very heart of the Old Centre, and is surrounded by merchant’s houses and canals. The two remaining medieval houses can be found at Zeedijk 1, and Begijnhof 34, which is the oldest house in Amsterdam. It’s also worth checking out the lesser known squares of Spui and Nieuwmarkt too.

If you want to explore the city’s museums and art galleries, then head to the south quarter and the city’s Museum District. Top of the list should be a trip to the Van Gogh Museum, which has the largest collection of the artist’s pictures in the world. Book your ticket online and you can avoid the queues. A great way to see as many museums as you can on a budget is to buy a Museum Card, which is valid for a year and is accepted at over 400 museums across the country.

If you love cinema then the EYE Film Institute offers a restaurant, film museum and cinema, as well as a riverside café with great views. This modern building is part of the new development of Amsterdam, bringing a fresh perspective and some real energy into the heart of this historic city.

Flying from Jakarta

Soekarno–Hatta International Airport sits on the island of Java, and is the main airport for Indonesia and one of South East Asia’s busiest transport hubs. Qatar Airways flies regularly from Jakarta to destinations all over the globe, using this modern and very busy airport as one of our South East Asia departure points. Unlike other concrete–and-steel airports, Soekarno-Hatta makes extensive use of beautiful golden timber in its construction, giving it a warm and welcoming feel with a much more personal and intimate atmosphere.

Transportation and parking

The DAMRI shuttle bus operates from all terminals to destinations across the city, including Rawamangun, Blok M/Kebayoran, Gambir, Bekasi, Depok and Bogor. Taxis arrive outside the main terminal and can also be picked up at the main taxi rank. There is extensive car parking facilities for both short and long-term parking, as well as a valet service, disabled and secure parking. Long-stay parking is available at terminals 2 and 3.

Facilities and amenities

The airport has extensive facilities spread across the three terminals. Terminals 1 and 2 have banks, ATMs and bureau de change facilities. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout Terminal 2 and is due to come online in Terminal 1 soon. Left-luggage is located in Terminal 2 (Hall D). A porter service is available. There are baby care facilities in Terminal 2, and prayer rooms and quiet zones throughout the complex.
