While they look after your every need, relax in spacious seating that provides you with extra personal space and more legroom, and enjoy a range of premium services along the way that include delicious cuisine and top-quality entertainment options.

Georgia’s state capital played an important role in the American Civil War and in the 1960s was a key city in the burgeoning Civil Rights Movement. In fact one of the top attractions there today is the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, which is dedicated to the life and times of the social reformer. Another major downtown attraction is Centennial Park, which was originally built for the 1996 Olympics and currently home to the magnificent Georgia Aquarium. World of Coca-Cola and the Atlanta History Centre are two other popular attractions.

Flying from Karachi

The largest city in the Sindh province of Pakistan is served by the ultra-modern Jinnah International Airport. Named after the founder of the country, the airport is a major commercial and passenger hub for the region and connects to international destinations all over the world. Bright, modern and friendly, Jinnah International Airport is extremely efficient.

Passengers flying from Karachi with Qatar Airways will find this to be a pleasant and enjoyable starting point for any journey, with excellent facilities and a smooth, efficient service provided by friendly and professional staff.

Transportation and parking

Driving to the airport is easy – simply take the national N5 route straight there from the centre of Karachi. The airport is well signposted and clearly marked. Taxi services from the city are plentiful, and radio-cabs are also available for pre-booking. Regular bus services link the airport with the city, and the journey time is around 50 minutes, depending on traffic conditions in the centre of the city (which can be incredibly busy!).

There is a commuter train station close by that connects directly with the city centre. Parking is limited for the size of the airport, but is conveniently placed for passengers. Short-term parking is directly opposite the terminal building, while long-term car parks are slightly further away, but still within walking distance.

Arriving at Karachi

Passengers flying from Karachi with Qatar Airways will depart from the East Concourse. A VIP lounge is available to premium class and business class passengers, as well as certain credit and club card holders. Security at the airport is very tight, so allow extra time before your flight is due to depart to clear check in and security checks.

Facilities and amenities

The airport has excellent facilities, including prayer rooms for devotions, ATM, Bureau de Change and banking amenities, a mosque close to the main terminal, and extensive retail and food courts. Gift shops include those selling local goods and souvenirs, as well as luxury and high-end goods and accessories.

Duty Free shopping is available once you have cleared security checks, and the food court offers a range of vendors offering everything from tea and coffee through to more substantial meals.

Arriving in Atlanta

A fascinating blend of traditional Southern charm and 21st century modernism, Atlanta is one of America’s key cities and is home to the world’s busiest airport. The city has been rebuilt more than once, and with a central place at the very heart of America’s history, it’s a fascinating and complex juxtaposition of old and new.

Fly to Atlanta with Qatar Airways and you’ll also discover a vibrant commercial centre that’s attracting businesses and investments from all over the world. You’ll also find a surprising number of Hollywood blockbusters being filmed in Atlanta, and the burgeoning film industry is a new and exciting commercial development in a city that’s continually reinventing itself. Travel outside the city limits and you’ll find yourself surrounded by rolling hills, lush, green farming belts, and the imposing granite Stone Mountain to the east.

Tourist attractions

Atlanta is hugely important historically, so there are plenty of museums to explore to find out more about the city’s role in the founding of modern America. The National Center for Civil and Human Rights charts Atlanta’s pivotal role in the development of the civil rights movement. If you are more interested in the history of the Civil War, then the Atlanta History Center in Buckhead offers a fascinating insight into the conflict that tore America in two.

Art is important to Atlanta’s identity, and some of the best examples can be seen in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, and the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, where you can see exhibitions of up and coming artists.

The other passion of the locals is sports, and the Atlanta Falcons NFC home ground of the Georgia Dome is the place to go to see American Football in all its glory. Baseball’s home in Atlanta is at Turner Field, which has its own museum as well so you can get to grips with the history and the finer points of the game.

Atlanta has more than its fair share of parks and open spaces. The Centennial Olympic Park has a man-made river that’s perfect for cooling off in the hot Georgia summer, while during the winter an ice rink is hugely popular with visitors and locals alike. Piedmont Park hosts open-air music festivals all year round, while Grant Park is the oldest park in the city and home to the Atlanta Zoo.
