Book flights from Kilimanjaro to Beijing with Qatar Airways

The comforts offered on flights from Kilimanjaro to Beijing with Qatar Airways are what make us a top choice for passengers travelling to the Chinese capital. Look forward to arriving refreshed and relaxed, after a journey spent reclining and relaxing in spacious and elegantly designed cabins, all the while enjoying the delights of award-winning cuisine and a range of world-class services.

Beijing is a vast city with an enormously long and colourful history. In the National Museum of China, you can see many fascinating artefacts from the country’s history.  Today, it is famous for its modern architectural achievements and as a major financial centre, but tourists come to see attractions such as the wonderful Forbidden City and the nearby Great Wall of China. Explore what life was life in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and visit the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong in Tiananmen Square.

Arriving in Beijing

Huge, intense and expanding at an enormously fast pace, China’s capital of Beijing is one of the most eclectic cities in the world. Ancient traditional culture sits alongside ultra-modern skyscrapers, and a booming retail sector seems strangely at odds with the still-prevalent Maoist ideals that govern everyday aspects of the people’s lives.

The city was the home of the Ming and Qing dynasty emperors until the formation of a republic in 1911. Today it is the cultural, educational and political centre of the country, filled with historical landmarks and a thriving commercial sector. Book a flight to Beijing with Qatar Airways and discover a huge city with an even bigger heart that welcomes visitors from around the world.

Tourist attractions

Beijing covers an area of over 16,000sq.km, so it’s important to plan any itinerary carefully. The heart of the city is Tiananmen Square in Dongcheng District. Surrounded by a host of attractions, it is the world's largest public square and a must see for all visitors. A cluster of grand buildings are positioned around the Square, making it a great introduction to the city for visitors. Attractions include the Great Hall of the People, the Museum of Chinese History, the Museum of the Chinese Revolution, the Qianmen Gate and the legendary Forbidden City.

For sports lovers, the iconic Bird’s Nest Stadium in Chaoyang District was home of the 2008 Olympics and is still host to internationally important sporting events. Close by you’ll also find the remains of the medieval city including the Ming Dynasty City Wall Site Park in Chongwen District, the Drum and Bell Towers in Dongcheng District, and Qianmen in Chongwen District.

The Forbidden City is now open to foreign visitors, after being a secret for centuries. This remarkable landmark was home to the Imperial Court during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and is filled with treasures from these periods.

Flights to Beijing with Qatar Airways land at Beijing Capital International Airport. Visa restrictions for entry into the country will depend on your country of origin, length of stay and whether your trip is for business or pleasure. Flying from Kilimanjaro

Servicing thousands of travellers who visit Kilimanjaro to explore one of Africa’s greatest attractions, Kilimanjaro International Airport provides an excellent starting point for any journey, connecting to international destinations all over the world.

Passengers flying from Kilimanjaro with Qatar Airways will discover a friendly and welcoming airport that is focused on providing a memorable passenger experience from the moment you step through the doors to the moment you board your flight.

Transportation and parking

The majority of transport to the airport is either via taxi or airport transfers provided by tour and safari operators. There are bus links, but they do tend to be very overcrowded and not suitable for travellers carrying large amounts of luggage or those  travelling with children.

A fleet of taxis runs from all the major hotels, resorts and locations around Kilimanjaro, and travel to the airport can be easily arranged through your concierge, hotel reception, or tour operator. Bear in mind that parking at the airport is extremely limited, so taxis and organised airport transfers are the most practical options.

Arriving at Kilimanjaro

Passengers flying from Kilimanjaro with Qatar Airways depart from the main terminal’s Departures lounge. As this is the main starting point for hundreds of thousands of visitors passing through every year, despite its small size the airport is exceptionally well-run and efficient.

While check-in and procedures are relatively hassle free, security is tight, so allow a little extra time before your flight is due to board. During peak holiday seasons the airport can get very crowded, so it may be wise to leave a few hours in advance prior to your departure time.

Facilities and amenities

A small selection of retail outlets sell local crafts, jewellery and souvenirs, for those last-minute gift purchases is available, while a Duty Free shop sells perfumes and some luxury goods.

Food and beverages are primarily on-the-go snacks and fast food, and passengers will find the restaurants to be extremely relaxed and pleasant. ATMs and currency exchange services are available, and Wi-Fi is also on offer in some parts of the airport for a fee.
