Transportation and parking

Car hire is available from nearly a dozen providers, including some of the largest car hire companies in the world. Both short-term and long-term parking is available close to the Terminal.

A fleet of taxis transport passengers to and from the airport (taxi ranks are positioned outside the main terminal entrances), and buses run regularly from the centre of Kuwait City to the airport. A pre-booked limousine service is available on request.

One unique aspect of Kuwait International Airport is the on-site Kuwait Air Force museum. It offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of the Kuwait Air Force through the years.

It is worth arriving a little early to the airport, so you can take a quick look around the museum before catching your Qatar Airways flight. The airport also offers plenty of other facilities including a luxurious Airport Mall with a wealth of retail outlets, and restaurants. The Mathaf Arab Museum of Modern Art has recently opened and is home to a collection of modern art from across the Arab world.

The Al Koot Fort was built in 1880, and is a popular photographic stop for tourists visiting Souq Waqif – a charming traditional market and the social heart of the city.  The Clock Tower is next to the Grand Mosque, and because of its hilltop position it offers panoramic views of Doha and the Corniche.

Doha Heritage Village is located along the Corniche in Al Rumeilia Park, and is based on a traditional Qatari village.
