Book flights from Salalah to Kuwait with Qatar Airways

A comfortable and luxurious experience awaits on flights from Salalah to Kuwait with Qatar Airways. You’ll relax in ergonomically designed, spacious cabins, and enjoy dining on a menu of exceptionally fine cuisine. Along the way, an award-winning cabin crew will look after your every need, so you can experience first-hand our world-renowned hospitality.

The bristling skyline of Kuwait is dominated by the sequined needles of the Kuwait Towers, overlooking a city that has seen unparalleled change in recent decades. Parts of the older city can still be seen in places like the traditional food market of Souk Al-Mubarakiya, but the glitzy boutique malls and designer outlets point firmly towards the future. The Kuwait National Museum showcases ancient artefacts, and at the heart of the city sits the massive Grand Mosque.

Flying from Salalah

Salalah International Airport is Oman’s second international air transport hub after Muscat, and is just under 5 kilometres from the centre of Salalah. The city is home to a very large expatriate community, making its airport an important starting point for journeys to destinations across the globe.

It’s a popular destination among outdoor-travel enthusiasts, and one that also attracts a great deal of business interest from investors and entrepreneurs.

Passengers flying from Salalah with Qatar Airways will find an airport geared up to providing international travellers with an excellent passenger experience, making it a good starting point for your journey.

Transportation and parking

As with most airports, the easiest way to get to and from Salalah International Airport is by booking a taxi at your hotel reception or concierge service. Official taxis provide an excellent service, with fast and efficient pick-ups and a set fare, so you know exactly how much you’ll pay for your journey.

Buses run to and from the airport, but if you are carrying heavy luggage or are travelling with young children, this may not be the most suitable option. Parking spots are also available, and can be pre-booked.

At the airport

Passengers flying from Salalah with Qatar Airways depart from the international flights terminal, which is part of the new airport complex. Check-in and security checks are expectedly thorough, yet smooth and hassle-free.

Allow approximately an hour and a half before your flight is due to depart to go through check-in and customs processing, and ensure all of your documents are in order before you arrive.

Facilities and amenities

The airport is adequately equipped with travel facilities, with Wi-Fi throughout the terminal building, and houses a Duty Free area providing a wide range of luxury goods. There are several food counters, serving the usual fast food choices, as well as local Omani dishes and some international cuisine, as well as beverages and snacks.

Business and First Class passengers can relax in a dedicated lounge, and there are ATMs and currency exchange outlets. It’s a good idea to bring a little cash with you, as some of the cafés don’t accept card payments.

Arriving in Kuwait

A major trading point since the 1600s, Kuwait is a small but powerful country that plays a key role in the political and commercial success of the region. It is now turning into a popular tourist destination, and welcomes visitors from all over the world. Kuwait is a fascinating country with plenty to see and do.

Book a flight to Kuwait with Qatar Airways and you’ll discover a city and country that has traditional values but a very modern outlook. Its petroleum and oil wealth has led to the development of resorts and luxury hotels, but there are also plenty of older attractions to fascinate and entertain visitors.

Tourist attractions

Failaka Island is just a short boat ride away from Kuwait City, and has a selection of Bronze Age and Greek archaeological sites worth visiting that demonstrate just how important on the Mediterranean trading routes Kuwait was through the ages.

The islands harbour is bustling with dhows, giving you a glimpse of Kuwaiti life outside the modern city.

Back in Kuwait City itself a good place to find traditional crafts and goods is the Al-Mubarakiya shopping district, where you’ll find plenty of souvenirs to remind you of your trip.

Much of Kuwait is flat desert, but just outside the city you’ll find the Kazmah desert cliffs. This is a great location to do a bit of off-road jeep driving, and on a clear day the view from the top of the cliffs stretches out across the bay.
