Flying from Hong Kong
Hong Kong International Airport is also known as Chek Lap Kok, the name of the small island that is home to this iconic air hub.
This incredibly busy airport has been named the “World's Best Airport" by Skytrax no less than 8 times. Efficient, friendly and helpful, the airport staff ensures that your time in Hong Kong is pleasant and your trip gets off to a great start.
Transportation and parking
The Airport Express bus service links the airport directly to the central business district. A fleet of buses takes travellers from most parts of the city to the airport, and the service is incredibly efficient, regular and quick.
Taxis and coaches are available outside the main terminal entrances, and a limousine service is also available. Car parking is available in three separate areas, although spaces fill up very quickly and availability in the long-term parking areas is limited.
Arriving at Hong Kong International Airport
Flights from Hong Kong with Qatar Airways check in at Terminal 1, Aisle E.
Unless you are a Hong Kong resident, you must return a departure card at immigration control when leaving Hong Kong. The two terminals are linked by a central access way and covered walkways at either end. If you are boarding your flight at gates 501-510, you can take a free shuttle bus from Terminal 1 to the North Satellite Concourse.
Facilities and amenities
Hong Kong International Airport has excellent facilities, ranging from a vast array of retail outlets to some excellent dining opportunities.
The airport even has its own 9-hole golf course – the Sky City Nine Eagles. A wide selection of dining options are available, serving Chinese and Asian food, as well as on-the-go snacks, coffee and more European-style cuisine.
