Book flights from Tokyo to Venice with Qatar Airways

Book a flight from Tokyo to Venice with Qatar Airways and discover the very best in international air travel. Exceptional cabin design means you can relax in more spacious, comfortable seats surrounded by elegant interiors that make you feel right at home. Enjoy dining on gourmet cuisine and choose from a selection of award-winning services.

Venice is the capital of the Veneto region of northern Italy and is built across more than 100 tiny islands in one of the Adriatic Sea’s marshy lagoons. The city has real poetic charm and its ancient palazzos appear to be built on the water itself. Full of iconic attractions such as the Rialto, Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sighs, Tokyo leaves little to be missed for visitors from around the world. Try seeing the sights on a gondola along the Grand Canal to experience Venice in all its mysterious beauty.

Flying from Tokyo

With a reputation for punctuality, efficiency and cleanliness, Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (also known as Tokyo International Airport) is one of the country’s main air transport hubs and connects to destinations across the globe.

This is an exceptionally busy airport, handling over 72 million passengers a year, making it the fourth-busiest airport for passenger numbers in the world. However, passengers flying from Tokyo with Qatar Airways will find this to be a very personalised airport, where staff are quick to help and the emphasis is on an excellent passenger experience from the moment you step through the doors.

Transportation and parking

Tokyo’s public transport system is legendary, and the same is true of its connections to the airport. Direct trains run between Haneda and Narita Airport (Tokyo’s other major airport), and the airport is also served directly by Tokyo’s Monorail service, which has a dedicated station at each terminal. The Keikyu train network also connects to Tokyo and other cities across Japan to the airport. Bus routes are just as plentiful, including the Haneda Airport Express bus.

Taxis operate on a set fare basis and the journey time by taxi from the centre of Tokyo to the airport is approximately 25-40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Both short and long-term parking is available at each terminal, with shuttle buses running between the parking areas and the terminals. There are approximately 3,000 spaces at the International terminal, but these fill up quickly. Pre-booking is advised.

Arriving in Tokyo

Passengers flying from Tokyo with Qatar Airways depart from the International Terminal. The check-in and security process is efficient, so it is sufficient to arrive approximately one hour before your flight is due to leave. A number of public lounges are located in the International Departures Area 4F, and a private VIP lounge is also available.

Facilities and amenities

Facilities are excellent at the airport, and it even has its own shopping ‘street’ where you’ll find a wide selection of luxury goods, accessories and electronics in particular. You’ll also be able to access the Duty Free shopping area once you have passed through security checks. Wi-Fi is free and extensive throughout the terminal, and there are also fixed Internet points in the Departures area.

Diners are well catered for, with excellent quality vendors serving both Japanese and international cuisine ranging from on-the-go noodles and snacks through to more substantial restaurant menus.

Arriving in Venice

Unique, beautiful and historic, Venice has to be at the top of almost everyone’s ‘Bucket List’ of places to see. From the magnificent St Mark’s Square to the Rialto Bridge, its canals, monuments and iconic attractions never fail to dazzle and amaze.

Book a flight to Venice with Qatar Airways and you’ll discover that this city lives up to your expectations in every way. Passionate and glamorous, it is also a business centre for northern Italy and is still as important as a commerce centre as it was hundreds of years ago when merchants flocked to its markets to do business. Now tourists flock to its monuments, making it one of the most popular destinations on the planet.

Tourist attractions

The whole of Venice is a tourist attraction, but it’s worth seeking out those unexpected gems by exploring its labyrinth of alleyways and squares. You can also head out to the islands on the lagoon, where you’ll find everything from the famous Venetian glass studios to the fascinating mausoleums of the island cemetery, the final resting place for the city’s great and good.

Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale) on San Marco Square is a must-see, and ensure that your ticket includes the guided tour ‘Secret Itinerary’, which takes you into the heart of the building, including Casanova’s jail. Also on the square is the iconic Clock Tower – the exquisitely painted clock face is truly exceptional and decorated with the phases of the moon as well as the hours.

Sailing down the canals on a gondola is a great way to see the city, although if you prefer a more ‘hop-on-hop-off’ approach the water buses are cheap, plentiful and run throughout the city and the surrounding lagoon. Obviously, keep an eye out for the Rialto Bridge, but Venice’s other bridges all have their own unique features, including some particularly gruesome gargoyles. To see how a gondola is made, stop by the Squero (Venetian for small ship yard) across the canal near San Trovaso Church.

Travel Considerations

Flights to Venice with Qatar Airways land at Marco Polo Airport. Visa restrictions for entry into the country will depend on your country of origin, length of stay and whether your trip is for business or pleasure. Before you fly to Venice please check the visa and passport requirements.
