Book flights to Neom

  A popular future attraction that is currently under construction in Neom is ‘The Line’. This massive project is designed to be a 55-metre high, 200-metre wide, 170-kilometre long city in the shape of a line. It is promoted to be an entirely new model for sustainable living powered by clean energy and unparalleled access to nature. There will be no roads, cars or emissions in ‘The Line’, and everything will be within a 5-minute walking distance in an effort to make life convenient and clean for the city’s anticipated 9-milion residents. 

Sindalah is also planned to be Neom’s luxury island destination in the Red Sea. Surrounded by natural beauty, this island will be home to upscale hotels and a yachting marina, as well as a beach club, wellness centre, and shopping venues. Tourists will be able to enjoy activities like kayaking, kite surfing, water skiing, and scuba diving. 

Ice skiing in the desert? It may sound bizarre to some, but the mountains of Trojena are planned to be home to the first major outdoor skiing destination in the region. A village will be built on the mountains so visitors can find hotels, shops, cafes, and restaurants. 

Once Neom’s ambitious projects are fully complete, tourists will be able to enjoy and explore the region’s natural wonders, from the Red Sea shores, to the desert canyons, the icy mountains of Trojena, and more.  

Part of the development of Neom is to encourage food tourism, where visitors will be able to experience the rich flavours and culinary diversity on offer in Saudi Arabia. With the emphasis on fresh, locally-sourced and sustainable produce, restaurants in Neom plan to take key dishes of Middle Eastern cuisine and give them a new twist through fusion with other cuisines.  

You’ll still be able to find authentic, traditional food such as kabsa, the simple-yet-delicious mutabbaq, and grab-and-go street food like ka’ak. But alongside these much-loved flavours, you can also look forward to French influences, Asian cuisine, and even the occasional gourmet American burger. 

The key element you'll be able to find running through Neom cuisine is this new concept of sustainability and wellness. The ingredients will be carefully considered not just for their taste and texture but also for their limited impact on the environment. This movement creates an exciting and innovative culinary environment that will delight visitors. 

As the city expands, more and more high-end malls and shopping centres will be available to provide visitors with a refined shopping experience. With the prospect of a growing retail sector and an increasing number of visitors, many high-end brands are already lining up to ensure they have a presence in the latest, state-of-the-art malls.
