As the most populous city in Canada, Toronto is a cosmopolitan metropolis brimming with arts, culture and delectable dining.

The city of Toronto is full of quirks; from theatre to comedy clubs, fine dining to market eats to the iconic CN Tower. Fly with us to Toronto and discover this vibrant and lively corner of Canada.

Toronto highlights

With residents from all over the world, Toronto’s cultural impact has been considerable. The capital of Ontario is abundant with museums, galleries and unique dining just waiting to be uncovered. Toronto is also a popular spot for adventurers and nature lovers, with Niagara Falls, the world’s most famous waterfall located nearby.

  • Atrações turísticas

If there’s one absolute ‘must-see’ during your time in Toronto, it’s a trip to one of the seven natural wonders of the world – Niagara Falls. Home to three different waterfalls, Niagara Falls is about a one and a half-hour drive from Toronto.

Visit the Art Gallery of Ontario, one of the largest art museums in North America, which contains more than 90,000 works of art and the world’s largest collection of Henry Moore sculptures.

If you have a head for heights, then a trip to the top of the CN Tower is a must. Book a table at the 350-metre high, 360-degree revolving restaurant at the top to dine with a view.

Back on terra firma you’ll find the Hockey Hall of Fame right on Yonge Street in downtown Toronto. Canadians take their ice hockey very seriously, and if you want to really immerse yourself in Canadian culture then try to catch a game during your trip to Toronto. The Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League are the pride of the city but if tickets aren’t available, the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League also play downtown.

  • Atividades de lazer

Enjoy the breathtaking views at Niagara Falls with a day trip from Toronto city centre. If you visit during the warmer months, you can take an adventurous boat trip to the falls - but don’t expect to stay dry! While you are there, visit the nearby quaint town of Niagara-on-the-Lake to admire the town’s 19th-century buildings, boutique shops and beautiful gardens.

For a glimpse of Canada’s beaches, take a day trip to Lake Ontario where you can hire paddleboards and kayaks in the summer months.

Explore the premier arts, culture and entertainment destination in Canada, The Distillery District, for a mix of dining, galleries, boutiques and entertainment.

  • Comida

Toronto is regarded as one of the best cities in North America for exclusive cuisine and fine dining. A plethora of restaurants with international reputations and excellent menus provide you with a rich variety of dishes, from fine French a la carte to Vietnamese, Arabic or Indian.

Toronto residents love their coffee, so you’ll find plenty of cafés serving excellent, locally roasted coffee and delectable pastries. There are also plenty of vegetarian and vegan restaurants, making it easy to cater to everyone. The city’s emphasis on quality cuisine means that seasonal dishes feature heavily on most menus, encouraging diners to taste the native produce of Canada.

If you like to browse before you dine, head to The Distillery District to choose from a plethora of unique, quality cafes and restaurants. As it is known as an entertainment precinct, you may be lucky enough to see a street performance while you are there.

  • Compras

Visiting Toronto for retail therapy is highly recommended, as there are plenty of stores for every kind of shopaholic. The main shopping boulevard is Yonge Street, which according to the Guinness Book of World Records is the longest street in the world. Toronto’s main mall is Toronto Eaton Centre, which is located between Queen and Dundas Streets on the west side of Yonge Street. Fun fact: The Eaton Centre boasts more visitors annually than New York City’s Central Park.

Vintage shopping is popular in Toronto, so there are plenty of flea markets and antique shops. The best markets to explore are Kensington Market, St. Lawrence Market, Merchant’s Flea Market and Parkdale Flea market, all home to unique goods from designers, jewellers and artists.
