Flights to Finland with Qatar Airways

Finland is one of the Nordic countries that is seeing a boom in tourism in recent years. This stunning country spans ancient trade routes between the old Soviet states and Western Europe and has influences from both the East and West. When you travel to Finland with Qatar Airways, you’ll find a landscape of lakes, forests, islands and a long and beautiful coastline, as well as some lovely cities to explore.

Most of Finland is blanketed with forests, while the rest of the landscape encompasses water surfaces. This makes it a very interesting holiday destination filled with the opportunity to explore numerous rivers and lakes and extensive marshland filled with rare wildlife. The indented coastline is full of hidden bays and coves and fragments into a multitude of islands in the south. Water sports are hugely popular, and island-hopping by small boat is one of the many activities to enjoy when visiting this naturally diverse land.

While mountainous parts of the region are present in Lapland, most of the country is relatively flat, making it ideal for cycling and walking tours in the great open spaces. Most of the main settlements are found along the coastal strip in the south, an area of rich farmland. The far north falls within the Arctic Circle, and is home to the indigenous Sami people live.

When it comes to culture, Finland has plenty to offer. The country is the birthplace of world-famous composer Sibelius and renowned designers and architects like Alvar Aalto. Helsinki, the ‘White City of the North’, has glorious neoclassical buildings and numerous waterfront cafés and parks.  While you’re in Finland, be sure to head north to visit the fabulous natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights and explore the outer fringes of the Arctic Circle.
