Flying from Istanbul
Sitting on the crossroads of east and west, Istanbul has always been a major transport and cargo hub. Istanbul Atatürk Airport continues that legacy, welcoming over 51 million passengers in 2013, when it was also awarded Europe's Best Airport in the 40-50 million passenger per year category at the 2013 by Skytrax.
In 2014 the groundbreaking ceremony took place for the new Istanbul New Airport, due to open in 2017. In the meantime, Istanbul Atatürk Airport continues to be a busy air hub, and passengers flying from Istanbul with Qatar Airways will find this a friendly, busy and efficient departure point.
Parking and Transportation
Access to the airport can be via the Metro, taxi, train or, for something a little more unusual, Seabus.
The Istanbul Metro line M1A runs between Yenikapı and the airport, and goes through some major parts of the European side of the city. An airport shuttle bus service runs regularly, as do buses that connect to the whole of the city and outlying locations.
The Seabus ferry service connects the terminal to Bostancı and Kadıköy. Car parking is divided into three zones – red, blue and yellow – and is located directly in front of the main international Terminal 2.
Arriving at Istanbul
Passengers flying from Istanbul with Qatar Airways depart from Terminal 2, which is the main international flight terminal.
The ‘Primeclass’ lounge is located one floor below the Food Court and after passport control at the International Terminal Departures Floor.

Facilities and amenities
Wi-Fi is available throughout most public areas, and there are also plenty of terminal points for passengers to plug in laptops or electronic devices.
A good selection of retail outlets and duty-free shops are available, as well as a range of food and drink outlets serving local delicacies and of course the very best Turkish coffee, as well as more substantial meals.
