Book flights from Philadelphia to Lagos with Qatar Airways

Enjoy the best in air travel for your next trip to Nigeria with flights from Philadelphia to Lagos with Qatar Airways. Relax in spacious seating and enjoy fine cuisine from an award-winning menu along the way. An attentive and friendly cabin crew will take care of your in-flight needs, and a selection of the latest entertainment options will help your time on board pass by smoothly.

Lagos is like an African Venice, spread out over several islands in Lagos Lagoon and from the Gulf of Guinea to further inland. The financial centre occupies almost the whole of Victoria Island and is fringed with resorts and sandy beaches. Business meets pleasure in Lagos, with top night spots, boutique shopping outlets, and sandy beaches within yards of the glass-and-steel skyscrapers. Two of the top attractions in this fascinating city are the National Museum Lagos, on Lagos Island, and the colonial-era Freedom Park.

Flying from Philadelphia

One of two airports serving the state of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia International Airport is also one of the busiest transport hubs in North America.

It provides passengers flying from Philadelphia with Qatar Airways a fast and friendly departure point to international destinations across the world, as well as a convenient transfer point for internal American flights.

Recent improvements have made this exceptionally modern and efficient, and staff go out of their way to make the passenger experience as pleasant as possible.

Transportation and parking

Public transport to and from the airport is exceptional, with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transport Authority’s High Speed train running from central Philadelphia to all the terminals, with a journey time of just under half an hour.

Plenty of bus services connect from all parts of Philadelphia and the surrounding Delaware county, and a number of hotels in the city also operate courtesy shuttle services to the airport. Taxis are plentiful and usually charge a flat fee to the airport.

Parking at the multi-storey car park is available for daily, short-term and long-term stays. Economy parking is located at the far end of the airport and is connected to the terminals via a 24-hour shuttle service.

Arriving in Philadelphia

Passengers flying from Philadelphia with Qatar Airways depart from Terminal A West, one of the newest buildings in the airport. There are 13 gates: A14 to A26, as well as passenger lounges for regular, business and first-class passengers.

Facilities at the terminal are exceptional, modern and efficient, although be aware that like all US airports security is exceptionally tight. So allow additional time before your flight is due to board to check in and clear security and customs checks.

Facilities and amenities

Terminal A West offers exceptional dining opportunities including a number of international cuisine restaurants as well as the usual fast food outlets and snack vendors.

Shopping is extensive, with a range of luxury goods and accessories available, as well as Duty Free shopping. Data ports and free wireless internet access are available, and there is even an on-site courier service, where you’ll also find a limited range of business facilities such as fax and photocopying services.

A children’s play area keeps younger travellers amused, and the entire airport is very well designed for disabled passengers, with staff happy to help where required.

Arriving in Lagos

The commercial centre of Nigeria and Africa’s largest city, Lagos is an energetic and exciting location full of colour. A combination of the mainland and connections to several islands, Lagos is a complex location that takes some getting used to. But once you do you’ll find it to be a friendly and welcoming place and a truly unique experience.

Book a flight to Lagos with Qatar Airways and you’ll not only have access to one of the world’s largest cities for business and commercial travellers, but a host of attractions to keep leisure travellers captivated too. Your African adventure begins with a flight to Lagos with Qatar Airways.

Tourist attractions

Lagos has over a dozen beaches. Close to the city is Lagos Bar Beach, which is a broad, sandy expanse but does tend to get crowded. If you’re looking for a quieter beach then head a little further out of town to Lekki Beach, Alpha Beach, Eleko Beach and Akodo Beach Ogogoro Island, or Atlas Cove. You’ll find a 110-year-old lighthouse taking pride of place at the aptly named Lighthouse Beach, one of the most tranquil and deserted of Lagos’ beaches.

The Lekki Conservation Centre is down on the Lekki/Epe expressway near Chevron, and is a haven for wildlife. A stroll around this well-run conservation centre gives you a window on Nigeria’s flora and fauna.

In the city you’ll find plenty of museums and exhibitions to explore, including the National Museum of Nigeria and the Nike Art Gallery, which is home to a very good collection of Nigerian folk art and contemporary works by young, up and coming African artists.

The National Theatre of Arts & Culture on the mainland is the epicentre for performing arts in the country. It puts on frequent shows of both traditional and contemporary dance as well as music concerts all year round.
