Travelling from Lahore to Milan with Qatar Airways takes the stress out of long-haul travel. Choose from an exclusive range of world-class services, and recline in spacious seating with plenty of legroom. Pick your favourite dish from a menu of award-winning cuisine and let a highly-trained cabin, dedicated to looking after you throughout the journey, take care of your every need.

Milan is a world capital of culture and high fashion, and the city also has an enviably rich history. It played a leading role during the European Renaissance of the 15th and 16th centuries, with artists like Leonardo da Vinci gracing Milan with masterpieces such as The Last Supper, which can be seen here. Other top attractions include the cathedral and Sforza Castle, while the best place for high-end shopping is the Galleria Vittorio.

Arriving in Milan

Best known as an epicentre of high fashion and couture, Milan in northern Italy has to be one of the most stylish and luxurious destinations in the world. This confident, elegant location welcomes the well dressed, the well heeled and the super-rich with open arms, offering everything from designer shopping to 5-star hotels where every detail is catered to.

Book a flight to Milan with Qatar Airways, and you’ll discover that there is also a lot more to this city than fashion. Plenty of attractions, galleries, opera and high culture make it an art lover’s delight, while business travellers will be drawn to the entrepreneurial spirit of the city and its thriving commercial centre.

Tourist attractions

Milan’s museums house collections of international importance. The best are located in the Pinacoteca di Brera, which can be compared with the greats such as the Louvre in Paris and Madrid's El Prado. The museum is home to Italy’s finest classical art collection, including "The Kiss" by Francesco Hayez. Other must-see museums and galleries include the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, and the Societa' per le Belle Arti ed Esposizione Permanente for more contemporary art and sculpture.

The Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology is a fascinating and interactive museum that looks a little more closely at some of the great man’s scientific inventions and ideas. For opera lovers, the obvious destination has to be La Scala Theatre, one of the world’s most important venues for classical opera. A strangely beautiful attraction is the Art Nouveau cemetery of Cimitero Monumentale, which is filled with lavish sculptures and is effectively the largest open-air Art Nouveau museum in the world.

The Cinque Vie historical district is Milan’s ancient heart, and is where the Roman city grew up. It’s also home to some of the city’s most exclusive boutique shopping, and plenty of espresso bars to keep you refreshed and fuelled up for a busy day’s sightseeing.

Travel Considerations

Flights to Milan with Qatar Airways land at Malpensa Airport, the city’s international airport. Visa restrictions for entry into the country will depend on your country of origin, length of stay and whether your trip is for business or pleasure. Before you fly to Milan please check the visa and passport requirements.

Flying from Lahore

Located approximately 15 miles from the centre of the city, Allama Iqbal International Airport, formerly known as Lahore International Airport, is Pakistan’s second largest civil airport, serving destinations all over the world. This modern, efficient airport is customer-focused and passengers flying from Lahore with Qatar Airways will find that the service and efficiency of the staff is excellent. Transportation and parking

Buses and taxis run from the centre of Lahore into the airport, although if you are travelling with luggage it is advisable to ask your hotel concierge to arrange a taxi service for you. Traffic can be incredibly busy, so although the airport is relatively close to the city, allow extra time for your journey. Both short and long-term parking is available close to the terminal.

Arriving in Lahore

Passengers flying from Lahore with Qatar Airways depart from the main passenger terminal Departures area. There are 32 check-in desks and a recent upgrade has made the check-in process much smoother. However, because of the very tight security at the airport you should allow at least two hours before your flight is scheduled to depart to clear check in and security checks. There are a number of lounges available while you wait, including a VIP lounge for first class and business class passengers. The international Departures lounge has a capacity of up to 1,200 people so there is plenty of room to relax before your flight.

There are additional lounge areas for passengers, as well as men’s and women’s prayer rooms for devotions. The food vendors offer a small but very high quality selection of light refreshments, snacks, tea and drinks, including one specialising in Pakistani sweets. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout.
