Book flights from Tokyo to Tehran with Qatar Airways

Flights from Tokyo to Tehran with Qatar Airways let you have all the space and facilities you need to properly relax during your journey, from the moment you step onboard to the moment you land. Enjoy dining on award-winning cuisine while you sit back comfortably in our ergonomically-designed seating. With a highly attentive cabin crew looking after your needs along the way, you’ll land in Tehran feeling refreshed and ready to do business.

Tehran is the exotic capital par excellence, a splendid mix of stylish Eastern architectures and exquisite decorations in stone and ceramic. The magnificent Golestan Palace complex, seat of the ruling Qajar dynasty, is a case in point, its marble throne and ornate rooms an awesome reminder of the absolute power of former monarchs. Many of that dynasty’s crown jewels are on display in the National Jewellery Museum, and for panoramic views across the city you should visit the Milad Tower.

Flying from Tokyo

With a reputation for punctuality, efficiency and cleanliness, Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (also known as Tokyo International Airport) is one of the country’s main air transport hubs and connects to destinations across the globe.

This is an exceptionally busy airport, handling over 72 million passengers a year, making it the fourth-busiest airport for passenger numbers in the world. However, passengers flying from Tokyo with Qatar Airways will find this to be a very personalised airport, where staff are quick to help and the emphasis is on an excellent passenger experience from the moment you step through the doors.

Transportation and parking

Tokyo’s public transport system is legendary, and the same is true of its connections to the airport. Direct trains run between Haneda and Narita Airport (Tokyo’s other major airport), and the airport is also served directly by Tokyo’s Monorail service, which has a dedicated station at each terminal.

The Keikyu train network also connects to Tokyo and other cities across Japan to the airport. Bus routes are just as plentiful, including the Haneda Airport Express bus. Taxis operate on a set fare basis and the journey time by taxi from the centre of Tokyo to the airport is approximately 25-40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

Both short and long-term parking is available at each terminal, with shuttle buses running between the parking areas and the terminals. There are approximately 3,000 spaces at the International terminal, but these fill up quickly. Pre-booking is advised.

Arriving in Tokyo

Passengers flying from Tokyo with Qatar Airways depart from the International Terminal. The check-in and security process is efficient, so it is sufficient to arrive approximately one hour before your flight is due to leave.

A number of public lounges are located in the International Departures Area 4F, and a private VIP lounge is also available.

Facilities and amenities

Facilities are excellent at the airport, and it even has its own shopping ‘street’ where you’ll find a wide selection of luxury goods, accessories and electronics in particular. You’ll also be able to access the Duty Free shopping area once you have passed through security checks.

Wi-Fi is free and extensive throughout the terminal, and there are also fixed Internet points in the Departures area.

Diners are well catered for, with excellent quality vendors serving both Japanese and international cuisine ranging from on-the-go noodles and snacks through to more substantial restaurant menus.

Arriving in Tehran

Tehran is opening up to tourists, allowing much greater access to this rich, fascinating and ancient capital at last. Book a flight to Tehran with Qatar Airways and the first thing you’ll notice about this lively and friendly city is the extraordinary mountain backdrop.

The towering, snow-capped Alborz Mountains dominate the landscape, providing wonderful hiking and trekking opportunities for the more adventurous traveller.

Back in Tehran you’ll find a fascinating fusion of ancient and modern – towering monuments and beautiful mosques, bustling markets and gleaming skyscrapers.

The welcome you’ll receive in Tehran is warm and friendly, and this unexpected tourist destination is now becoming a favourite among more discerning travellers who want to head off the beaten path and experience the real Persia.

Tourist attractions

Tehran’s mountain backdrop is echoed by its own towering monuments in the centre of the city, the most famous of which is the Azadi Tower. Built to commemorate the 2,500th anniversary of the Persian Empire, it’s a fusion of Sassanid and Islamic architecture.

A museum in the base of the tower gives visitors a potted history of the Empire, as well as the history of the tower itself.

The tomb of: ‘Abdul ‘Adhīm ibn ‘Abdillāh al-Hasanī is a place of pilgrimage for many. The Shah-Abdol-Azim shrine is dedicated to the descendant of Hasan ibn ‘Alī. He was also a companion of Muhammad al-Taqī, and was buried at the shrine in the 9th century.

The Treasury of the National Jewels is an astonishing collection of jewellery and the largest of its kind in the world. The glistening collection includes the Darya-e-Noor diamond, the sister diamond to the Kuh-e-Noor diamond, the world's largest uncut ruby and a free standing golden globe made from 34 kilograms of gold and no fewer than 51,366 precious stones.
