New Fare Families FAQs
The Qatar Airways Fare Families offer consistent and easy to understand travel options across cabins allowing you greater flexibility to choose fare that match your preferences and travel budgets.
Qatar Airways has launched new, simplified fare families across all travel classes in a bid to offer greater simplicity and choice to its passengers. Each of the new fare families offers passengers a clear, distinct set of products and services designed to meet the different needs of its broad range of customers.
The old fare families apply to tickets issued on/before 8 November 2020.
For partially flown itineraries, the old fare families apply.
For wholly unutilised itineraries, the new fare families apply.
Attributes as per journey will be applicable (per direction / bound).
If there is a mix between short-haul First and Business, the fare basis class will apply.
Customers booked into Economy Comfort and all Premium cabins (Business Class & First Class) will be have access to dedicated Contact Centre and WhatsApp numbers. Information will be shared via email if the information is provided in the booking and/or push notification if booked on the Qatar Airways mobile app.
All passenger types except infants will benefit from the new fare families. No changes are being made to the infant offering. |
Customers booking through Qatar Airways will benefit from the Qatar Airways terms and conditions.
Customers booking through other airlines will benefit from the terms and conditions of the issuing carrier.

Yes. Lounge access can be purchased. Elite tier members of Qatar Airways Privilege Club and oneworld programs will continue to benefit from complimentary lounge access.
The Extending Our Commitment Policy will continue to be available for tickets issued on or before 31 December 2020.
Yes. As part of the Extending Our Commitment Policy, customers may opt for the refund to voucher option regardless of booking channel. Please refer to the Qatar Airways website for full terms and conditions.
The tier benefits will continue to be available for Privilege Club elite members.
Qmiles accumulation is based on when the ticket was flown. If flown on/before 8 November, the Qmiles accumulation levels associated to the previous fare families will apply. If flown on/after 9 November, the new fare families Qmiles accumulation levels will apply.
Qatar Airways is committed to continually reviewing its loyalty program offering as it continues to redefine loyalty for its members and partners. At present, there are no changes to partner earning rates.
Group bookings created on or after 9 November will benefit from the new fare families.
In Economy, group bookings will benefit from Economy Classic attributes and access to complimentary standard seat.
In Business, group bookings will benefit from Business Comfort attributes.
In First, group bookings will benefit from First Elite attributes.
The tier benefits will continue to be available for oneworld elite members.
Customers booking through oneworld partners will receive the terms and conditions of the issuing carrier.
Customers booking through Qatar Airways will benefit from the Qatar Airways terms and conditions.
The O RBD will become the entry-level RBD.
There will be no floating RBDs in the new fare family structure.
Core attributes including baggage and seating eligibility will be filed for the GDS. However, fare family brand names will not be displayed.
