A group is a party travelling together over one or more segments for which space has to be requested and may have a group fare. Group bookings are made by QR Stations on behalf of their travel agents to secure business in advance, by blocking 10 seats or more in one transaction until passenger names are advised.

There are 2 types of group bookings:

Ad-hoc Groups

Can be requested anytime to any destination for any market segment or customer type with minimum group size of:

• 10 per departure on Economy class cabin
• 6 per departure on Business/First class cabin
• 10 per departure where some passengers are traveling on Economy and some on Business/First

This kind of group is secured through deferred payment of deposit. Required materialization is 80% of the total group size.

Allotments (Series/Negotiated Space)

Consist in a minimum of 4 to 10 seats booked in daily/weekly/monthly patterns across defined periods of time (travel seasons) and allocated to a Tour Operator with whom a contract has been signed.

This kind of group is secured through a signed contract. Required materialization for this type varies depending on the travel seasons.

There are 2 types of Allotments:

• 1. Group Series which is like a consolidation of ad hoc groups. Due to its volume, it is being handled as series with different conditions; and
• 2. Negotiated Space also similar to series but with a different way (technical) of selling it. This type is only available for Amadeususer agents since this is a special functionality of the Amadeus Global Distribution System.

Group can be requested for different customers and purposes such as leisure, religious, MICE, labour, students, seaman, cruise, sports, tour operators and many more.
