Frequently asked questions
Pursuant to the interim authorization granted by the ACCC in November 2024, Virgin Australia and Qatar Airways are required to protect and support passengers who purchased tickets for the New Services if final regulatory approvals, anticipated in March-April 2025, are not granted.
In such circumstances, Virgin Australia and Qatar Airways must rebook passengers onto suitable existing Qatar Airways operated services wherever possible.
If circumstances do not allow this, Virgin Australia and Qatar Airways will fully refund the New Services tickets, as well as compensate passengers for any reasonably foreseeable costs incurred as a result of the cancellation of the New Services. “Reasonably foreseeable costs” may include, but is not limited to, non-refundable accommodation, onward connections, ground transportation, tour bookings and visa fees.
