Book flights from Paris to Bali with Qatar Airways

Arriving in Bali

The largest city and the capital of the beautiful island of Bali, Denpasar is a stunning blend of ancient and modern. From spectacular monuments and tranquil parks to glittering skyscrapers, it’s a friendly city that welcomes both business and leisure travellers.

Full of temples and palaces, there is plenty to see and do in this busy city. Book a flight to Denpasar with Qatar Airways and you’ll find a city that many tourists overlook as a destination in its own right.

If you pause for a while and explore Denpasar you’ll discover an authentic glimpse of life in Bali away from the usual tourist resorts and hotels, and an incredibly warm and friendly welcome from its people.

Tourist attractions

At the very centre of the city (quite literally) is the Alun-Alun Puputan square, with its huge, four-faced statue, which is supposed to defend the four cardinal points of the compass. It’s also an incredibly useful landmark if you get lost at any time.

To find out more about the history and culture of the island and its people a visit to the Bali Museum is highly recommended. It is spread across four pavilions, with the main pavilion housing a collection of ancient stone, bronze and wooden artefacts.

The southern pavilion has exhibitions of the country’s textiles, while the northern pavilion focuses on the history of Balinese performance art. The central pavilion is devoted to Balinese spirituality.

The Lapangan Puputan Margarana park is a large open space in the heart of the city. You can’t miss the huge Bajra Sandhi monument, which dominates the park.

Bali’s capital is also full of temples that are exquisitely decorated, including the Palace of Satria and the Royal Temples, and the beautiful Pura Maospahit, which is believed to date back to the 14th century.

Flying from Paris

Just 14 miles northeast of Paris is Charles de Gaulle International Airport, France’s largest air hub and one of the most important international travel points in Europe. In 2015 it was awarded the Skytrax award for the World’s most improved airport, and its airport shopping facilities and services are rated in the top five and top 10 in the world respectively.

Combined with outstanding transportation connecting it to the French capital and excellent levels of services, Charles de Gaulle International Airport is among the best in the world.

Transportation and parking

Transport to and from the airport is excellent, with a network of trains, buses, and underground services connecting the airport to the capital. The SNCF main line station at Paris CDG is called Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV and is located between terminals 2C-2D and 2E-2F. The airport is also linked by the RER B service to Paris and the suburbs.

This service runs to and from Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 1, which is closest to Terminals 1 and 3. A fleet of taxis is available around the clock, and limousines are also available for pre-booking. Passengers flying from Paris with Qatar Airways should park in the car parks closest to Terminal 1. Long-stay parking is located opposite Terminals 1 and 3.

Arriving at Charles de Gaulle International Airport

Passengers flying from Paris with Qatar Airways will depart from Terminal 1. Head for the Departure level on level 3. An on-line check in service is available. Escalators will take you up to the departure area.

Major functions such as check in and baggage claim are located in the centre of the terminal, with departure gates distributed around the outer ring.

Facilities and amenities

The majority of facilities in Terminal 1 are located on level 4, where you will find a plentiful selection of retail outlets selling high-end luxury goods. A large duty-free area is also available to ticket holders who have cleared customs.

Changing areas and rest areas are dotted throughout the terminal, and this being Paris there is an excellent selection of food and drink outlets selling everything from coffee and croissants through to full a la carte menu meals.
