Book flights from Beijing to Lagos with Qatar Airways

It’s the unique world-class services on offer that make flights from Beijing to Lagos with Qatar Airways such a pleasurable experience from start to finish. In addition to spacious cabins with ample legroom, enjoy dining on fine cuisine from a select menu in elegant surroundings. With an attentive cabin crew looking after all your needs, you can look forward to reaching Lagos feeling wonderfully refreshed and ready to explore this wonderful destination.

Nigeria’s largest city is built on a lagoon, spread across several islands in the Gulf of Guinea, and you’re never far away from the sound of water here. The central business district is unusual in also being home to smart beach resorts and boutique malls, and is also the centre of the city’s well-heeled nightlife. On Lagos Island in the northern part of the city you’ll find National Museum Lagos with its ethnographic collections of artefacts from across the region, while major public events and concerts are held in Freedom Park, which used to be a prison until the late 1970s.

Flying from Beijing

Book a flight from Beijing with Qatar Airways and you’ll fly from one of the busiest international airports in the world. Situated around 32km from the city centre and ranked as the second busiest airport for passengers in the world, this modern, efficient airport has an excellent safety record and a reputation for outstanding passenger care.

The focus (primarily due to the sheer volume of traffic) is on efficiency, and passengers are able to check in within minutes of arriving, making it a pleasant departure point for international travel and particularly popular with business travellers on tight schedules.

Transportation and parking

The airport is extensive, with three large terminals, regular shuttles run between the terminals and parking areas. The Beijing Subway's Airport Express runs to T2 and T3 and takes around 20 minutes from the city centre.

Shuttles run between the major hotels and the airport and are remarkably efficient and regular. It takes approximately 45 minutes from the centre of Beijing to the airport by shuttle.

Taxis are plentiful, but as many drivers do not speak English it is best to ask your hotel concierge to book a taxi for you. Taxi journeys take approximately 45-60 minutes, depending on the traffic conditions.

Parking at the airport is provided for both short and long-term stays, but proportional to the size of the airport, spaces are limited.

Arriving in Beijing

Passengers flying from Beijing with Qatar Airways depart from Terminal 3 Concourse E. While T3 is huge, it is incredibly well organised and run, so passengers should have no difficulty checking in and clearing security checks.

This ultra-modern terminal has everything passengers need, including exclusive lounges for business and first-class passengers, and electrical power points next to every chair in the Departure waiting areas.

Facilities and amenities

Facilities at the airport are exceptional, particularly in the main Terminal - 3. Terminal 3 has 243 elevators, escalators or moving walkways, so getting around is easy.

The surroundings are incredibly modern, yet there is the tranquillity of an indoor garden in the heart of the terminal for a chance to get some peace and quiet before your flight leaves.

Food and drink options include tea houses, fast food restaurants and traditional Chinese cuisine, as well as international restaurants. The shopping court is outstanding, offering everything from Duty Free through to traditional Chinese goods for those last-minute souvenirs.

Arriving in Lagos

The commercial centre of Nigeria and Africa’s largest city, Lagos is an energetic and exciting location full of colour. A combination of the mainland and connections to several islands, Lagos is a complex location that takes some getting used to. But once you do you’ll find it to be a friendly and welcoming place and a truly unique experience.

Book a flight to Lagos with Qatar Airways and you’ll not only have access to one of the world’s largest cities for business and commercial travellers, but a host of attractions to keep leisure travellers captivated too. Your African adventure begins with a flight to Lagos with Qatar Airways.

Tourist attractions

Lagos has over a dozen beaches. Close to the city is Lagos Bar Beach, which is a broad, sandy expanse but does tend to get crowded. If you’re looking for a quieter beach then head a little further out of town to Lekki Beach, Alpha Beach, Eleko Beach and Akodo Beach Ogogoro Island, or Atlas Cove. You’ll find a 110-year-old lighthouse taking pride of place at the aptly named Lighthouse Beach, one of the most tranquil and deserted of Lagos’ beaches.

The Lekki Conservation Centre is down on the Lekki/Epe expressway near Chevron, and is a haven for wildlife. A stroll around this well-run conservation centre gives you a window on Nigeria’s flora and fauna.

In the city you’ll find plenty of museums and exhibitions to explore, including the National Museum of Nigeria and the Nike Art Gallery, which is home to a very good collection of Nigerian folk art and contemporary works by young, up and coming African artists.

The National Theatre of Arts & Culture on the mainland is the epicentre for performing arts in the country. It puts on frequent shows of both traditional and contemporary dance as well as music concerts all year round.
