Book flights from Washington, D.C. to Lahore with Qatar Airways

Travelling by air has never been so comfortable and luxurious, with flights from Washington DC to Delhi with Qatar Airways meeting every expectation. More legroom, award-winning services throughout the flight and an in-flight menu featuring delicious cuisine all contribute to an atmosphere of opulence and ease on your journey to India’s magnificent capital.

Delhi is the seat of Indian government and is packed with the high-class restaurants and boutique shopping venues. It’s a highly cultured and cosmopolitan city, strong on the arts with many fine museums and world-class galleries. In a city as old as Jerusalem you’d expect a few monuments, and these too are everywhere, from ancient walls and forts to relics of the British Raj and beyond.

Arriving in Lahore

Pakistan’s second largest city and awash with golden-domed mosques, beautiful traditional buildings and stunning landmarks, Lahore is considered to be the country’s cultural capital. This energetic and vibrant city also offers visitors excellent retail and culinary experiences, as well as one of the warmest welcomes you’ll receive anywhere in the world.

Book a flight to Lahore with Qatar Airways and experience the true warmth and vibrancy of Pakistan. From the magnificent Elephant Gate that sits at the entrance of its walled city, to the peace and tranquility of the Hiran Minar park, Lahore is an eclectic, eccentric city that will draw you back time and again.

Tourist attractions

Lahore is a huge city, and the sheer number of attractions can be mind-boggling to begin with. A good place to start is the Walled City, one of the oldest in the world. Every gate around the huge walls is different and worth a visit in its own right, but the best of the ‘Gates of the Inner City’ is The Raushnai Gate (the ‘Gate of Light’) that sits between the royal mosque and the citadels.

Within the Walled City you’ll also find Lahore Fort, built by the moguls and even today still an impressive and imposing structure. If you ask the guide they may take you down for a private tour of the underground summer rooms.

The Badshahi Mosque was for many years the largest mosque in the world and today is still a dominant feature of the Lahore skyline. In front of the mosque is a pretty park with Pakistan’s very own answer to the Eiffel Tower, the Minar-e-Pakistan.

Travel Considerations

Flights to Lahore with Qatar Airways land at Allama Iqbal International Airport. Visa restrictions for entry into the country will depend on your country of origin, length of stay and whether your trip is for business or pleasure. Before you fly to Lahore please check the visa and passport requirements.

Flying from Washington

The USA’s capital and one of the most iconic cities in the world, Washington D.C. is also an incredibly busy international air hub. Located approximately 26 miles west of the city, the airport’s main terminal is architecturally striking. A huge curved roof arches gracefully into the air. Be warned though, this is a very big airport so you may need a little extra time to orientate yourself.

Transportation and parking

The airport is so large that a train takes passengers from the main building to the concourses. Valet parking (for up to 45 days) is available close to the main terminal, while a selection of other short and long-term parking options are located in garages 1 and 2, with up to 8,325 covered spaces available.

A large economy parking area is located near Route 28 airport exits, providing more than 12,000 spaces. A regular shuttle service runs from the economy parking areas to the main terminal.

A selection of vans, taxis and buses take passengers from Washington D.C. to and from the airport, and a limousine service are also available.

Arriving at Washington Dulles International Airport

Passengers on flights from Washington D.C. with Qatar Airways will need to go to Departure Area 2 to find the Qatar Airways check-in desk.

Once you have passed through security you will need to board an Aero Train, which will take you to the gates on the four main concourses. Gates H and Z are connected to the main terminal building, so there is no need to use the Aero Train to access these gates.

The security checkpoints are located on the mezzanine level.

Facilities and amenities

Dulles International Airport is vast, and offers passengers a wide selection of amenities and facilities. Car rental, hotel information and even a ‘pet relief’ area  is located on the ground floor.

On the departures level you will find gift shops and cafés serving everything from snacks to full restaurant-standard meals.
