Poland’s capital is well served by the modern and very busy Warsaw Chopin Airport. The airport was also previously known as Warsaw-Okecie Airport, and many taxi drivers will still refer to it as “Okecie” today.

Transportation and parking
Buses provide the main public transport link to the airport, running between central Warsaw, including Warsaw Central Station and the Old Town.
Long-distance buses connect to other locations in Poland. Taxis are plentiful and can be pre-booked by your hotel concierge, and it is advisable to only use licensed taxis rather than hailing a cab at the side of the road. Journey time is approximately 30 minutes, depending on the time of day and traffic conditions. Parking at the airport is good, with four car parks offering both long and short-term parking at a very reasonable rate.
Arriving in Warsaw
Passengers flying from Warsaw with Qatar Airways depart from the main terminal (Terminal A).
The terminal is divided up into five areas (A, B, C, D, and E) so it is important to check on arrival where your flight is departing from by consulting the flight information boards. Security is very tight, so allow at least an hour and a half to two hours before your flight is due to depart to check in and go through all security and customs checks.
Facilities and amenities
Free wireless internet access of up to 30 minutes is available in the main terminal, while passengers using the VIP and Executive lounges can access the internet for free for up to four hours. There are three Executive lounges for first and business class passengers. The food court provides an excellent selection of local Polish dishes, coffee and pastries as well as more substantial restaurant meals.
Retail outlets include Duty Free, souvenir vendors, accessories and luxury goods. Mother and baby changing rooms are available, and the airport is wheelchair friendly with specially trained personnel happy to help less physically able travellers on request.
