Book flights from Krabi to Venice with Qatar Airways

Comfort and style combined with an exclusive range of services and flawless attention to detail are what distinguish flights from Krabi to Venice with Qatar Airways. In addition to enjoying a menu of exceptionally fine cuisine, relax and recline in the comfort of spacious seating with extra legroom, and let our award-winning cabin crew cater for all your needs.

Venice is a highly unusual city in that it was built on more than 100 islands in a lagoon. Visitors from around the world come to enjoy the famous canals, especially the central Grand Canal, and to explore the many Gothic and Renaissance palazzos which line these romantic waterways. The historic Piazza San Marco stands at the centre of the city, with St Mark’s Basilica and the Campanile bell tower being top attractions.

Flying from Krabi

Passengers flying from Krabi with Qatar Airways will find Krabi’s airport very friendly and efficiently run, despite its small size. The airport has good facilities and an attentive, welcoming staff.

Transportation and parking

Krabi’s airport is located on the main highway Route 4, approximately five miles from the city’s town centre. It is important to note that only authorised taxis or public transport services are allowed into Krabi Airport, so you must pre-arrange transport (either an approved taxi provider or airport transfer service) before heading out. All airport taxis are pre-paid and operate on a fixed-rate basis.

There is an official airport bus service that runs around 10 times a day between 8am and 8pm. Parking is available next to both terminals. To enter the airport you have to show approved ID in the form of a passport or driving licence, which is then scanned. Parking is free at the airport.

At the airport

Passengers flying from Krabi with Qatar Airways depart from the International Terminal. Departure check-in counters can be found at the first floor, where you’ll also find immigration control and security checks (which are very tight). Allow approximately two hours to check-in and clear customs.

Facilities and amenities

The airport has plenty of food and beverage outlets, ATMs and souvenir vendors throughout the terminal. The terminal’s lounge is spacious and comfortable, and conveniently close to check-in. A small restaurant is located outside the international terminal, offering a range of authentic local dishes.

Arriving in Venice

Unique, beautiful and historic, Venice has to be at the top of almost everyone’s ‘Bucket List’ of places to see. From the magnificent St Mark’s Square to the Rialto Bridge, its canals, monuments and iconic attractions never fail to dazzle and amaze.

Book a flight to Venice with Qatar Airways and you’ll discover that this city lives up to your expectations in every way. Passionate and glamorous, it is also a business centre for northern Italy and is still as important as a commerce centre as it was hundreds of years ago when merchants flocked to its markets to do business. Now tourists flock to its monuments, making it one of the most popular destinations on the planet.

Tourist attractions

The whole of Venice is a tourist attraction, but it’s worth seeking out those unexpected gems by exploring its labyrinth of alleyways and squares. You can also head out to the islands on the lagoon, where you’ll find everything from the famous Venetian glass studios to the fascinating mausoleums of the island cemetery, the final resting place for the city’s great and good.

Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale) on San Marco Square is a must-see, and ensure that your ticket includes the guided tour ‘Secret Itinerary’, which takes you into the heart of the building, including Casanova’s jail. Also on the square is the iconic Clock Tower – the exquisitely painted clock face is truly exceptional and decorated with the phases of the moon as well as the hours.

Sailing down the canals on a gondola is a great way to see the city, although if you prefer a more ‘hop-on-hop-off’ approach the water buses are cheap, plentiful and run throughout the city and the surrounding lagoon. Obviously, keep an eye out for the Rialto Bridge, but Venice’s other bridges all have their own unique features, including some particularly gruesome gargoyles. To see how a gondola is made, stop by the Squero (Venetian for small ship yard) across the canal near San Trovaso Church.

Travel Considerations

Flights to Venice with Qatar Airways land at Marco Polo Airport. Visa restrictions for entry into the country will depend on your country of origin, length of stay and whether your trip is for business or pleasure. Before you fly to Venice please check the visa and passport requirements.
