The city is split into two, the Upper Town (Gornji grad) and the Lower Town (Donji grad). The city has plenty of museums to explore, including the Archaeological Museum, which has a particularly fine collection of Egyptian artefacts as well as some ancient Croatian relics. And for a little natural splendour, head out of town to Medvednica mountain, which overlooks Zagreb and is also home to the well-preserved fortress of Medvedgrad.
